Hello Comrades.
I realize this should be in the video game section but idk how many of you check anything other than the Lobby.
Anyway. More and more people seem to be playing Civ V and I know a couple other people who have been looking to play. So if you're interested in some Civ multiplayer, post it here and post your schedule so we can try to organize some games :o
Monday nights, Tuesday nights, occasional Thursday nights, and weekend afternoons past 3 p.m. Central.
I work super early, so no games past 7:30 p.m. Central.
But yes, I want to play.
I'll play u if u buy FIFA

I've never played a civ game before but they look interesting
Even I like the game, Popsi. It's an awesome waste of time. giggle;
Weird almost seems like boyagers are moving to a minimal board layout naturally

for 10 bucks you can get civ v and a bunch of other firaxis games
whatever, i'm gonna buy the humble bundle and just buy civ5 complete all over again next time there's a decent sale on it

how worth it is the civ5 dlc tho
dlc itself isnt, the expansions are REQUIRED MATERIAL
tho i would imagine at least one of them is gonna end up as the " More games coming soon!"
gods and kings is meh but smh if you don't get brave new world

I'd say any dlc involving adding a new civ is awesome
But map packs are dumb. Imo vanilla civ v isn't great. Gods and kings saved it. Brave new world made it the bomb diggety

i mean gods and kings brought base game up from a 6/10 to a 7-8/10, but Brave New World is what actually makes this game a competent and fun civ game. tho i dont know why you would get gods and Kings without Brave New World; you can get the complete collection at like $12.50 which is frankly really the only reason to get the game if you're going to
i might be down for some civ if the snowpacalypse on the east coast actually turns out to be a real thing and i have nothing to do for days on end
yeah you gotta get the expansions. only dlc worth it is Korea i think.

thats civ 4 and it's expansions; this was before expansions were integrated as 'DLC' like they usually are now. Beyond the Sword is the most 'complete' version of that game if that's what you're looking for. Colonization is also worth tryin out, as thats techincally not Civ 4 but rather a remake of the 1994 game Colonization made in the Civ 4 engine. you can pretty much ignore the base game and warlords unless you want to play the game without the additional content for some reason

build cities, build buildings that give you science (libraries, universities), profit
Oh and keep your people happy
And maintain enough of a defensive force to not die. Or build a huge army to conquer the world idk

And so it begins.
What happened to Boyah?
CIV V.
just won my first game against computers
i took out two civilizations and a strategically-placed city-state and still won a diplomatic victory lol n_u
I beat a small game on warlord difficulty pretty easily too (SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE) so I've moved up to Prince on a standard 8-civ continents map and I feel like I'm gonna win this one too despite taking on way too many cities too early on. Between the ones I set up myself and the two I took over as puppet states from Babylon (RIP) I have 7. My citizens hate me.
*signs onto Steam*
Popsi has 60485085043808 new CIV V achievements.
*regrets but also enjoys this*
tfw i've had this game for years but still haven't touched it because i'm terrified of the time commitment >.<

oh my god is this the truth
I'll easily waste an entire day on it and not realize it.
I've forgotten to eat when playing it. 12 hours, Tec. AND I LIKE FOOD.
I've had civ v complete for a while now, only played it twice because I suck at it and it takes up a whole day, but I'd really like to play with all you guys
I'm on my third game on Prince difficulty and I think this is where I'm gonna stay until I figure out the actual nuance to this game
This one is going really poorly though. Japan was being a dick so Denmark and I teamed up to take him out but I did all the work. This was pretty early on and I funneled too much into military and now I have to catch up and I don't think it's gonna happen.
Can me move this to the vidya board now

who you playin' as
Korea. And I'm losing the science race. That's how hard I fucked up.
Also it's only my second game on Prince nvm
I CAN'T FUCKING DO IT
Warlord difficulty was cake, but Prince is eating me alive. I bumped it up to 8 civs instead of 6 which might also have a lot to do with it, but my God, I'm getting repeatedly stomped.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has trouble above Warlord.
lmao same giggle;
