Title: Civilization Organization Pt II
Post by: YPrrrr on January 18, 2016, 01:10:02 PM
Hello Comrades.

I realize this should be in the video game section but idk how many of you check anything other than the Lobby.

Anyway. More and more people seem to be playing Civ V and I know a couple other people who have been looking to play. So if you're interested in some Civ multiplayer, post it here and post your schedule so we can try to organize some games :o

Monday nights, Tuesday nights, occasional Thursday nights, and weekend afternoons past 3 p.m. Central.

I work super early, so no games past 7:30 p.m. Central.

But yes, I want to play.

I'd say any dlc involving adding a new civ is awesome

But map packs are dumb. Imo vanilla civ v isn't great. Gods and kings saved it. Brave new world made it the bomb diggety

i mean gods and kings brought base game up from a 6/10 to a 7-8/10, but Brave New World is what actually makes this game a competent and fun civ game. tho  i dont know why you would get gods and Kings without Brave New World; you can get the complete collection at like $12.50 which is frankly really the only reason to get the game if you're going to

i might be down for some civ if the snowpacalypse on the east coast actually turns out to be a real thing and i have nothing to do for days on end

thats civ 4 and it's expansions; this was before expansions were integrated as 'DLC' like they usually are now. Beyond the Sword is the most 'complete' version of that game if that's what you're looking for. Colonization is also worth tryin out, as thats techincally not Civ 4 but rather a remake of the 1994 game Colonization made in the Civ 4 engine. you can pretty much ignore the base game and warlords unless you want to play the game without the additional content for some reason

build cities, build buildings that give you science (libraries, universities), profit

Oh and keep your people happy

And maintain enough of a defensive force to not die. Or build a huge army to conquer the world idk

I beat a small game on warlord difficulty pretty easily too (SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE) so I've moved up to Prince on a standard 8-civ continents map and I feel like I'm gonna win this one too despite taking on way too many cities too early on. Between the ones I set up myself and the two I took over as puppet states from Babylon (RIP) I have 7. My citizens hate me.

I'm on my third game on Prince difficulty and I think this is where I'm gonna stay until I figure out the actual nuance to this game

This one is going really poorly though. Japan was being a dick so Denmark and I teamed up to take him out but I did all the work. This was pretty early on and I funneled too much into military and now I have to catch up and I don't think it's gonna happen.

Can me move this to the vidya board now
