If you have netflix, check out Blue Ruin.
It's a really fantastic revenge flick and the protagonist is this kind of stumbling everyman.

I also saw The Double with that Michael Cera knockoff a while ago. It's also on Netflix.
Pretty predictable, but I really liked the set design and the atmosphere. Everything's greasy and industrial and dark and you really aren't given any insight as to the state of the world or anything. There's a good amount of shifty humor as well. Plus, it has a cool soundtrack.
