boyah help direct my life pls confuseddood; confuseddood; confuseddood; confuseddood;
Those all sound great but I'd go to asia or mexico over spain personally
what are you applying for? (english teacher?)
China
spain is a nice vacation spot, but to work? it just seems weird and do they even hire many young foreigners considering their native population's predicament?
japan and south korea seem to be cushy if you're an english teacher. as long as you're not at a hagwon in the latter
Asians and Mexicans love cute white people teaching them Englush! Don't go to Spain lol

what is hongdae?????
'artsy' district of seoul
Go 2 brazil
I know this chick that is going to northern Thailand to teach English. She is getting like 900 bones a month. That's like 30k useless bhat. Awesome experience though.
Thailand seems scary, Loas is probably safer if you're set on Southeast Asia

i've heard multiple testimonials that brazil is one of the worst places to teach right now. apparently it is common practice for you to have to sue your school in order to get paid lol
thailand is supposed to be great for english teaching, though. very established private school chains and it sounds like it is pretty safe regardless of political turmoil.. maybe

brazil is shit for everything
they can barely speak or read portuguese as is, let alone english
yeah basically
apparently the country is a bureaucratic mess too and doing anything from getting a work visa to renting a place is needlessly complicated
just had an interview for a school in oaxaca mexico and it sounds very appealing actually :3
Lol you're gonna stand out like a sore freckled orange thumb anywhere you go, but for the love of god, not cartel la la land. don't want to hear about your gringo ass on the news.
on a related note, what makes you qualified to teach english to anyone but yourself?
Lol what an American stereotype to have
I went through a 30 credit teaching course through my university that will give me a TESOL certificate. Will prob have 100+ hours of volunteering with ESL students by the time I start working, too
my Venezuelan boyfriend was an esl student ♡
Oaxaca doesn't really have much political strife and violence as the other states
i came from there :,(
you can visit mount alban and see ufos
oaxaca sounds alright, close enough that Boyah will load reasonably fast still
i have an interview with a private school chain in china today
they'll pay me way more but it sounds like itd be a fucking trip to be in china for a year
omg
RIP David. Convicted of espionage in the PRC
Don't go to thailand because it's a generic whiteboy thing to do.
Don't go to China because they look down upon white people who go there to teach english at most schools (essentially viewed as the losers who couldn't get a job in the US or as a higher management position at a company).
vietnam lol
go to Spain or Mexico

it's between china and thailand right now. my gf and i are working with a different recruitment company in each company and are basically going through the process with both of them and waiting to see which one will end up being a better gig. leaning towards thailand, though.
might as well pick thailand so you don't get lung cancer and beaten down by bikers for being a laowai
yeah i rly dont want lung cancer
i heard they have McDonalds bike delivery in china so you dont have to leave your apartment when the smog is bad to go out

but then your burger gets exposed to the smog
wouldn't it be better to go there yourself and not eat particulate-laden hamburger
