I need to fax something because National Grid is stuck in the 90s. >.<
I need to track down a fax on campus.
why are companies still using faxes.
i've seen arguments that would make sense from a security perspective (e.g. no man in the middle, delivery reports, being sure who sent the message) but those also are possible with email and other mediums. You can sign and hash a transmission to be sure it hasn't been tampered with. Delivery reports are completely possible. Digital certs exist for this reason.
please die fax machines we have the internet now
I can send a fax from my smartphone
you can send faxs for free online
faxes are good for getting documents that need signatures signed

Hotels use faxes all the time lol
sometimes we get advertisements for various vacations and whatnot faxed to us at our store because our company just does things like that and it's annoying
Invoices, confirmations, cancellations, etc.
I agree 100% with you.
But still. That's just how it operates.
we have to use our fax machine daily at work
every single night the closing person has to fax a report showing that our currency exchange tills are all balanced properly, signed by the employee
and we fax to and from customs and various parts of the company for all sorts of reports
in addition to the aforementioned dumb advertisements that get faxed to us
you run fax to foreign governments?
