Post by: The artist formally known on March 29, 2014, 03:07:12 PM
Hey guys, I'm a huge fan of survival horror games here are a few I think are great. Let me know which I should check out too. Astrik means it's the best one in my opinion.

Silent Hill 1, 2*, 3, 4
Condemned 1, 2
Parasite Eve 1, 2
Fatal Frame 1*, 2, 3
Dead Space 1*, 2, 3
Amnesia
Eternal Darkness
Condemned Criminal Origins*, 2

Ones I haven't played but hear are great:
F.E.A.R.
Cape Fear
The Thing
ObsCure
Corpse Party
The Evil Within
Slender
Overblood
Illbleed

Other:

The Evil Within

(Watch it suck though)

And I liked RE4 on the Wii. That's probably like the only one I've played out of all these.

i played Fatal Frame back in October and goddamn it was so fucking good, i loved that game to death

and it was legitimately scary, something i cannot say for most other horror games i've played, though i can't say i've played a lot

Eternal Darkness is still one of my favorite games ever tho

but yeah i gotta play the other Fatal Frame games sometime

The first hour was amazing and pretty scary, but then it completely loses any steam it happened to have.

I still haven't beaten Eternal Darkness either even though I tried to play it multiple times.

Surprised to see all the Fatal Frame love.  frankendood;

Me too, I played the first one over winter break and got to the third chapter or night or whatever and wasn't interested in finishing it. I found it got too boring....although there was that one ghost in the long room on the first floor that would fly fast and vanish and that was a tough shoot. But yeah, not interested in playing the others.

No love for Alan Wake? Or Max Payne. Those are some of my favorites.

the last of us is the only survival horror game you'll ever need

although there is much more of an emphasis on survival than there is  on horror lol

Alan Wake was okay. Max Payne wasn't very spooky I thought.
Yea, it wasn't spooky but it had some disturbing things in it. I must of forgot we were talking about survival horror. More of a crime thriller. IMO better than the GTA's or True Crime games' stories.

I'm too pussy to play scary games.

TLOU wasn't that scary... Surprising, sure.

I used to be scared but I forced myself to play through Silent Hill 2 when I was a kid. Was a fantastic game that was horribly scary. Jesus christ those scenes are so dark and fucking creepy.

I just finished RE 2 and 3. So that means I've beaten RE 1-5. I like this franchise, but it has recently went towards large crowds and became a full fleshed action game. Going after Code Veronica X next.

4 is my favorite RE game even despite the fact that i also enjoy the old style with tank controls and super limited ammo and static camera angles

RE4 may be an overrated game in general, but it's still fucking amazing  hocuspocus;

I love RE4, probably the most, but still RE1 for it's time was so fucking fantastic. RE2 led to be quite a bit more epic, with some fucking frightening monsters... I expected such epic things out of the next installment but instead we got two luke warm titles (3 and Code).

But 4 really was fantastic. It's a masterpiece, it's quite terrifying. Again you expect something fantastic from the next title in the series.. but instead we get two luke warm titles... but this time they're 5 and 6.

So finally we're sitting here... waiting for #7

I remember watching my brother play this game Overblood. Which was an eerie title where I think you just had to walk through a futuristic hospital and escape. There were hardly any enemies so it was really suspenseful.

I was just thinking about it this week.
