is it all about the mental anticipation?
is the "heavy lifting" all in the head because tasks are really meaningless.
does there a purpose to planning .
many times even for a 15-minute work task for a client i will move it around on a couple different to-do lists for 2-3 days trying to figure out when, and in what order to do it with other stuff, before committing to a "schedule" and then going through the schedule.
it's my struggle to learn work discipline but also kinda OCD / ADD
itt where are you at in your life with feelings about planning and executing plans.
Sometimes i think planning is just a really subtle form of procrastination, because planning something feels like you are completing a part of the Objective so you don't have to work on it when you immediately finish planning. Like, I play today i Work tomorrow.

yes this i what i meant lol.
how much better can a plan or preparation really get
i'll spend days planning how i should start a homework assignment or project
i'll consider every possible way to approach it
then i'll start the day it's due and realize my "preparation" did jack shit and i would've been better just working
somehow i still can't bring myself to just sit down and do homework. i don't know why

Odysseus spent ten years planning for the Trojan War, and then on the spot they made up the Trojan Horse. I guess preparing is just a waste of time.

maybe the reward center of ur brain is a little screwed
it's awful
before i do any sort of project i usually clean my entire apartment and make myself some nice food and a pot of tea
even then i usually find some other kind of distractions
and then i am up until 4am hating past david for fucking me over
this happens like every week
it is happening right now actually lol

same 4 me
i'll sit down and get ready to work but then i'll think "well before i start i should make myself some dinner"
so dinner takes half an hour to make
then i sit down and i'm like "well i usually watch something while i'm eating and i don't want to try working while eating so why not"
two hours later "man i should start this homework. i'm feeling a little hungry though..."
replace making dinner with shooting up drugs
this is how life gets away from you
or, definitely,
maybe I should start working on this
*hey I should check boyah*
maybe I should start working on this
*hey I should check boyah*
maybe I should start working on this
*hey I should check boyah*
maybe I should start working on this

lol exact same pattern
doing eating while i do homework just doesn't sound right

itt where are you at in your life with feelings about planning and executing plans.
it was explained to me that one reason behind that (obsessive planning) is that planning is mostly an inward, controlled ability. it's practically fantasy, and that's something you can control. with enough calculated rationalizations and guesstimated precisions you'd form a sense of security out of reassurance (of your 'planning')
i don't plan for anything anymore nowadays unless needed
i just write things i want to do on a piece of paper and whenever bored look at it and pick the most favorable option

interesting
so do you think that planning is similar to mirror neurons in the sense that when you are planning something, you are activating part of your brain that would be stimulated while you were doing and completing the task at hand? like, planning is a way to derive satisfaction out of perusing and completion of a task without actually doing said task?
does this makes sense lol

i could see that, though I was really thinking about work-focused settings. i go to work, but end up planning more than working. and then eh i am done working! :D
but ze other times i seee, it is really ze plannignt hat has the pay-offs.
