I went to the nuthouse because my doctor (general practioner) prescribed me an anti-depressant as a treatment for an anxiety disorder. This in turn caused me to suffer severe mood swings in addition to the anxiety which was not helped.
So the anxiety would act up and I'd get really angry then really sad, etc. I was not thinking clearly because it seemed the pills helped at first (meybe placebo) each time they gradually upped the doses. So I started to take more and more until I had take about 7x my prescribed dosage. I knew the lethal dose and stopped about a quarter of the way there.
I told the doctor this and that they were not working. He instead took this as suicidal behavior and had me report to the hospital where they threatened me into signing the "voluntary" shit. They then marked me as high risk suicide and woudln't let me wear my shoes or a belt until I saw a therapist who cleared me.
What it was like was odd. Very few of the people were legit crazy. They were generally there for drug problems or depression. I know of of the guys I was there with died about 2 years later of a drug overdose. I saw another one a few times on the bus. He was a nice guy there for depression issues.
I was the youngest one so it was kinda weird. It was only in my last few days that someone my age showed up and I talked to her a lot. Then I haven't talked to her since.

i was in a central park with a friend of mine who had schizophrenia
the doctors prescribed him adderall 15 mg instant
it was in a blue pill, the upper half transparent so you can see all the little beads
he gave me them because he was anti-psychiatry (but still believed in medicinal uses in marijuana?)
we smoked some joints and I took about 30 mgs
and I felt incredible, almost manic with a scalpel-like precision that penetrated the fogginess of marijuana
then my roommate started to supply me with stimulates, because he had a prescription
i experimented with instant and time release, believing that it helped increase my energy
eventually, I stopped altogether once I thought that the cons of stimulants (coke, adderall, ritalin, etc.) were provoking my anxiety and accelerated episodes of psychoticism (which were fun for a while, it was cool watching myself trying to overcome my urges to succumb to a delusion to alleviate nervousness)
plus my self preservationistic urges didn't want me to use them anyways
i knew that they'd accelerate aging like alcohol :(

after 2 or three sessions we decided it would be best to see one another as normal faggots

I knew exactly what was happening then.
She got out of the shower and wanted me to help dress her up, and since that was my only evidence against her, I decided to play along and just ask more questions to test her and see if I could get her to admit anything. All of her answers were suspicious but nothing that I could 100o/o use against her. I zipped her up in a nice dress that she never even wore for me and I felt bad. :(
She left around 6PM and said she definitely wouldn't be back later than 11. I got a call at 11:45 and she was laughing a lot and I knew something was fucked up. I told her I loved her on the phone (more to see if she'd actually say it), and after 10 seconds of silence, "...I love you too..."
She gets back home and jumps into my arms and gives me a huge kiss (which is disgusting now that I think about it) and tells me she loves me and wants to spend time with me before she goes to bed. I say that something's been off lately and I want to talk about our problems. She's still smiling and agrees to sit down and listen, and when I ask if she thinks there's anything wrong, she says everything's just fine. She then claimed to be extremely tired and wanted to go to bed. I went to bed an hour later.
I woke up around 9AM because I heard her walking around the house. She saw me wake up and said, "Don't worry--I'm not going jogging" (she'd been jogging, or so she claims, for the past few weeks). I fell back asleep and woke up again around noon. She wasn't back yet, so I started to worry. I called her and didn't get a response. Texted her and got nothing. I knew she'd left permanently due to her behavior last night but I didn't know where the fuck she was. Around 2:30 or so I get a response saying, "I just need some time alone right now."
I later found out she spent the whole day with him and was sleeping at his house. When I bumped into her the next day and got her to admit she was sleeping at his place, she said he was the "least biased person in the situation and I'm only there to clear my mind."
The past few months have been awful, but hey, I realize that this shit would've happened eventually and I'm glad it happened before I married such a crazy bitch. I could've lost a house or kids. Thankfully I only lost about $15000 to her. akudood;

It was a few months ago when I saw Animal Collective. I met up with some guys from another forum I go to and hung out at their house before the show. They asked if I wanted to take some acid beforehand, and I took it. We spent the trip playing Katamari Damacy and listening to Ween, and with the combination of the Animal Collective show it was pretty much the perfect day for me. We rode the bus over to the venue, which was outside a courthouse in the middle of downtown Portland. Animal Collective completely blew my mind. Amazing show. Afterwards, I was still tripping pretty hard so I decided that I would probably just crash at their place.
When we got back, I was offered another hit of acid. I decided that since I was gonna be hanging out here for the night, I might as well enjoy it. Well it got to the point where the walls started moving. I'm usually pretty in control of myself when I'm tripping, so I was able to just take it in and enjoy myself. That is, until someone suggested we listen to The Residents. I mean, I love The Residents, and was totally on board for listening to them, but listening to Mark of the Mole while watching old Felix the Cat cartoons was just suddenly too much for me. It got way too weird for my brain. Everyone else in the house started laughing hysterically at the cartoon and for some reason I came to the conclusion that they were laughing at me because I was about to die. I remember that exact point when I started to get really scared, and that was when the guy next to me said "HAHAHA He should have seen it coming". Of course, I thought this was targeted towards me. Looking around the room and seeing everyone seemingly in a trance while the fucking creepy Residents music played made me think that some kind of satanic ritual was going on. I decided that all of this was too much for me to handle so I made an excuse that I needed to go to my car and take my contacts out.
I stepped outside, and was super paranoid that I was being followed. I swear I saw a bunch of shadows walking and whispering around outside. I knew it was part of the trip, but I was starting to have my doubts. I went into my car, locked the door, and tried to go to sleep. That wasn't going to happen though since I just took another hit of acid an hour beforehand. Sitting in silence was even worse. There was constant whispering and laughing coming from my head. I just became too much. So I ran back inside the house, still convinced that the shadows were following me.
I wandered into the guest room, and attempted to fall asleep so that I could sleep past the trip. I think that was around 2 or 3 in the morning, and I just sat there for the entire night listening to the voices and music inside my head. At one point I felt like I had left my body, and was pulling the strings on my muscles like a puppet. Also, the guys in the other room were laughing NON STOP. Like throughout the entire night they did not stop laughing. It felt like they were laughing at me from the other room. Laughing because I was terrified that I was about to die. I seriously thought I was about to die, and I was just laying there waiting for it. I sat there listening to the laughing for about 8 hours before they all left the house. I immediately got the fuck out of there, went home, and crashed.
TL;DR: Don't listen to The Residents on acid. You're gonna have a bad time.
