I've dealt with this multiple times and it's not weird.
Though what does get tricky is if there's a few of you in the same circle of people and you're talking about one of the other ones and have to go an extra step to identify which one. Or when somebody calls out your name and you're not sure which one of you they want.

Look people in the eyes when you're talking to them.

people aren't always looking at you
sometimes they're turned around or a considerable distance away
if you're in a large group setting people might already be in a conversation with someone else and you need to get their attention

It's impolite to yell across a room, or at somebody.
No
my boss at work is named Josh, he runs marathons. New people always come up to me like "dude do you really run marathons? Did you set up the 5k run for cystic fibrosis awareness?"
i just call them by their own name and when they're not looking and more than one marc/k is being referred to, i say "oh, i was talking to this marc/k, sorry." it's like that when im with another person named marc/k and someone asks for a marc/k too
or sometimes i just add their last name too very briefly
when there's two names, one with a c and one with k and same last name inital, i usually just say, "marc with a c" or "mark with a k"
i've only met one other person irl with the same letter ending as me.

I've had a lot of jackasses jokingly ask if were related
How could that even be funny it doesn't make sense

Never really have other than my grandpa but i usually just called him grandpa
Otherwise most Aubreys I've known have been slutty girls who I had no interest in befriending
at least in that case it's unlikely to be friend zoned
One solution to this problem is to not make many friends n_u
In my last half of high school, I knew two people named Jenny who were both in my math club and engineering group. I wasn't really close at all to anybody then, but I guess I could sorta call them friends. One of them seemed pretty smart in academics; she was about equal with me in math ability, which I hadn't ever seen in any other classmates.
So that probably would've made coming out even more awkward if I ever did. By the way, I decided on this name about a year before I met either of them.
I don't think I've really known anybody else named Jenny, Jennifer, Joey, or Joseph.
bluaki that is not a realistic solution
