I currently have 2000 in the bank, though I will be getting another paycheck before I move, and I am buying a laptop for $860, so prior to moving I should have roughly $1300.
Plane ticket will cost about $230. I have no idea how much of my stuff I'll be able to bring with me. Probably just clothes and a few video games.
Rent will cost $200 a month

I'll need to buy food and personal hygiene products occasionally.
Job market seems fine, though I'm unsure of my abilities to actually get one. My current job pays roughly $550 a month.
Will need to pay for the bus; though that will be cheap, it'll be frequent.

Ron's a good online friend, though he can be off-putting at times and I have no idea how we'd interact in person. He'd introduce me to his friends, and while they might be good, considering  my social history who knows if I'd care for them or them me. I have friends in Arizona, though they're getting more spread out and with no car I'm unable to ever see any of them.

I'm just laying out information here and only wondering what Boyah's consensus is. It won't influence my decision.

imo this whole idea seems way too impulsive and unplanned

forgive me if i get some of the details wrong but uprooting yourself from your stable but perhaps not entirely satisfactory life to go live with a friend you've never met in person on the other side of the country in which (i'm assuming) you have no other friends or family, and with no job or other means of support (aside from said friend) in place for you from the moment you arrive there, on the off-chance that perhaps things might turn out to be better for you, seems like such a huge risk that i don't know why anyone is encouraging you to blindly go ahead with this, at least not without first being better prepared for what would certainly be a massive and uncertain diversion from your current routine

how sure are you that you'll absolutely be more content than you are at the moment after moving

like, are you happy where you are? do you see yourself being happy where you are in 5 years?
if not, then i think moving is a great idea. sure, there's risk, but financially it seems pretty small. i mean getting a job shouldn't take that long if it is your #1 priority.

and if that risk is scaring you, take into consideration high-demand industries. doing home care aide for people with disabilities or the elderly is in super high demand, and you usually get paid to go through he certification process. just an example, but you can always reconsider what you can do to make money

and i can't speak for lawlz since i dont really know him but as of lately i've started to see that he could be a nice guy irl, and i think he could be a beneficial person to live with (in terms of cool interests, seems to be doing stuff with his life, etc). skype with him more if you are worried about socializing

also i'm just going to be honest and say it's very unlikely that she will fly somewhere just to see you. if she has a sister here then it's more likely that she'd visit you in between the time she'd spend with her sister, but she's not going to spend a few hundred just for you

It's a toss up either way. Do what it is best for you and what you truly believe will make you happier.

However, if you move to Pittsburgh, then I need to meet up with you and Lawlz. Pittsburgh is an hour away from me.
