make at least one deposit or withdrawal with each account per year
otherwise the state takes your money because they think it's "abandoned"
i need to do a bunch of shit to get my money back now and they never even warn your ass akudood;
No shit dickhead.
The lady at my credit union even told me to make a withdrawl or deposit in each or it'll be closed to no activity.
Always read the fine print

i was told the opposite when registering for my account
too many transactions with a savings account makes it merge with my checking account
there's no mention of "abandoned property" anywhere in the contract. it's a policy of the government, not the bank.
dont trust banks
Not sure which bank you have, but I have a Chase savings account that I don't use and it never had any issues. The money is still there and I even get updates on the interest.

If I were you I'd make a small transfer of like a dollar right now.

if you don't make a point of doing something with that money the government takes it with the excuse that you either didn't want it or you died

The time of presumed abandonment depends on the state. I believe Montana requires the account to remain inactive for five years before the account is reclaimed.
