Title: FALL/AUTUMN SPIRIT HERE
Post by: 6M69I69B9 on October 19, 2013, 05:14:33 PM
WHAT HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN DOING TO ENHANCE THIS SEASON'S EXPERIENCE?

For me:

So, it's usually Fall/Autumn that I will feel the most coziest ever.  Trees are changing colors, you get to wear layers more, pumpkins everywhere.  And recently, I realized that I haven't been doing enough Fall/Autumn-esque stuff.  Like, every year I'll change my desktop to some Fall/Autumn/Halloween wallpaper, I'll buy a pumpkin to put in my room, and eat candy corn with peanuts.  But I've barely done any of that at all.  But usually, I'll just fucking love this season.  It's one of the few things I'm actually ever enthusiastic about.

Maybe it's because I've been feeling down recently- but!  I've decided to get out of that shit and try to make myself focus on something else- changing the "vibe" of my place.  My house seems empty and depressing as shit.  So what have I been doing to make things better?

I went to Menards today and bought some pumpkins, candles and wax melts with Fall/Autumn themes...but then I decided...why not carve a pumpkin?  You know- in my whole time living, I've never once carved a pumpkin before.  I guess my parents were never fond of doing something like that.  So, I decided to go to Goodwill and buy some pumpkin carving tools for two dollars and ten cents.

When I came home, my mom was somewhat interested that I was going to carve a pumpkin so I decided to do it in front of her.

The process:

Holy fucking shit I DID IT:

Now, to explain why the top is covered.  There is actually a wax melter in the middle, and it works PERFECTLY for this pumpkin, oh my God.  I didn't even know I was going to be /that/ creative.  This will be the centerpiece in the table we have in our living room instead of nothing being there.

I will probably roast the seeds from the pumpkin I did.  And I'm going to make another small one for my room, and another one for our porch, but it will be bigger.

I feel better just doing this stuff.

my mom has the house all decorated, she loves halloween decorations (but tasteful pottery barn-style ones, not plastic things and/or "scary" stuff
