Title
Also: Not Sid put all of those bands you suggested during Uncharted :'(
lmao
next step in talking heads would be either Speaking in Tongues or More Songs About Buildings and Food
Depeche Mode's best album is Music For The Masses. Violator was their most popular one though.
I just listened to Superchunks' self titled album the other day and I liked it alotm though they are more punk/ 90's alt rock.
also The Mountain Goats are a favorite. listen to Talahassee or The Sunset Tree
(thread should be titled "Overwhelm David with albums to listen to"

i'd suggest goldfrapp - felt mountain and air - moon safari for leftfield music. air is very french and goldfrapp explores a lot of styles including cabaret and torch music. goldfrapp's black cherry is the next step as she explores the sounds of the 70s and parts of it sound like the next step up from felt mountain. if you like felt mountain, you should listen to portishead's dummy.
Queens of the Stone Age
Of Monsters and Men

i'll just go ahead and be the guy to say The Flaming Lips, start with the Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots album as it's the easiest starting one to get into probably
Be a good gent and listen to Ween's The Mollusk all the way through. Put it on your plate and give it a big bite. It's a nautical themed album that looks goofy and almost forgettable on paper, but in reality it's bumpy sailing through a handful of genres, drunken sea shanties and ghosty-love-songs and is a great example at just how versatile these guys were, musically, in their prime.
Also, check out NightHawks at the Diner by Tom Waits. Was recorded in front of a small live audience.
Really quick and smooth-wit and some dirty strip-club jazz. Think late night big city cafes. It's one of my favorite albums to drive to.

LOL
For '80s music, I'd recommend Treasure and Head Over Heels by the Cocteau Twins over anything released by The Cure. Also, anything released by Dead Can Dance as well.
