WOMEN DESCRIBE THEMSELVES AS THIS ALL THE TIME
IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD OR RELIGION THEN WHAT THE fuck DOES BEING SPIRITUAL MEAN
"i'm a vegetarian but i'm very into cheeseburgers and t-bone steaks"
seriously what does this mean
are they closeted christians or what
they probably assume that "religious" has to refer to believing in god or not
when in fact of course it also encompasses believing in spirituality of any kind to begin with, god or no god
WICCANS
or, they believe in the Real&Present Power of ouija boards, astrology, Fortune, etc.

i get that some people are dumb enough to believe in astrology but when someone describes themselves as "spiritual" i assume it guides their daily lives
i would hope no one lets a ouija board decide their morals akudood;

I just let it decide my dinners.
Somehow it knows what I have in my cupboards and chooses from there.
Most of the time.
Spirituality is associated with the metaphysical side of humanity when people get itches to find purpose or meaning in their lives. You hear people describing a two week trip hiking some remote back-country in the mountains alone and getting down with nature as a "spiritual experience". In reality, they probably just had a ton of time for introspection in an inspiring environment.
So I guess one definition of spirituality is self realization maybe and doesn't really have much to do with any dieties or divine force.
But mostly people like to label themselves as such to get a few comments on facebook and to make their yoga sessions a little more rewarding. Probably. Q('_' Q)
I think my mom would somewhat describe herself this way
by it she believes in spirits and afterlife and some sort of a god and follows her own ideas of morality and otherworldly things but she is strongly opposed to organized religion
Yeah it probably just means that they don't follow any sort of religions that are currently out here but that they do probably believe in some sort of supernatural or deity/deities.
it's so they can hop around and be bar sluts and not be morally objected to it and skip waking up on sundays to go to church, but still look like a "good person" in the eyes of their family and friends.
"religious" means adhering to organized faith or cultural practices
spirituality is like being schizotypal
when womyn use it they mean 'feeling exploration' and trying to find a purpose in life through occult things like 'introspection', 'self-reflection' and 'awareness'.
this thread could be answered by god damn dictionary.com christ

funny
well i like to seem myself as a very kind person with positive energy, allowing others to feel the same as they feel my aura. i do tai chi, i like putting red knots all over my house like shingles, and i throw things in my house because of fung shui. it is a very enlighting concept that makes me feel one with nature and i also like eating tofu to remind me that the spirits of every cow, pig, and bird i've eaten will make a mess of my kitchen. it is good for the people around you and i think it would be very beneficial for mankind. i use meditation so it can clean my mind of any negative energy. because negative energy is bad and meditation is good
lol
im spiritual it just means you believe in a world outside of the physical hocuspocus;
the difference between spiritual and religious is that U dont have to care about the crusades or hindus killin each other or any of the other bullshit atheists like to complain about. but that IMO is the best part of religion.

It's not just women, by the way. And it means that they believe in invisible people that aren't necessarily the invisible people believed in by any particular denomination...or...in invisible forces instead of or in addition to invisible people.

Well here ya go--like I said, it's not just women that do this sort of thing. In bars, it's mainly the guys who say that cuz they think it's what women like to hear. How did women get stuck with this stereotype?
