are you saying you'd prefer a tablet over a gamecube controller ghouldood;
it's not like my design's supposed to be flat and fucking huge, i think you're imagining the wii u controller with a gamecube button pad and some oblong horn shapes tacked onto the bottom
it's more like a gamecube controller with a phone screen in the middle
>the gamecube's awful tiny b button

Don't get me wrong. The GCN controller was the most comfortable ever. But your model looks more uncomfortable than the actual controller itself.

how so? what looks uncomfortable about it?
I don't think you're understanding how much smaller this is.
Your screen is an inch smaller. n_u
I need big. awdood;
the entire point of the design is it would fit in your hands like a 360 or gamecube controller would goonish
That would make the screen really tiny though.

Actually, I believe the console supports two controllers.
and so far everyone who's held the controller has claimed that despite its size and button placement it's not uncomfortable, so i'm not particularly worried about whether or not it's ergonomic

and another issue is that the limited power of the console itself is what limits the number of controllers that can be attached, so it becomes an issue of controllers vs. grffx unless they make it so powerful that that's not an issue, but they've already claimed that it's just '1.5x as powerful' as current consoles and they probably aren't going to change that awdood;

The Nintendo Network has been surprisingly good so far. Surely the Wii U edition will be better than the 3DS'.
I hope so, but even with the promise of more online capabilities for the 3DS and its games, the most recent 3DS iteration of Four Swords has no online features and is limited to local multiplayer. goowan

Four Swords is DSiWare, darling.

I think an octagon guide around a joystick is rather useful because it helps with going straight in one of the primary directions
But I guess most cases where that would be particularly useful are probably better served by using the d-pad instead. The Wii U controller does make the d-pad more easily accessible than the Gamecube and Wii controllers do.

Quote from: Thyme on May 21, 2012, 09:37:55 AM
the placement is okay on the wiimote imo
Using the d-pad instead of the joystick essentially completely changes your controller, with losing two buttons, making two more awkward to use, and making the IR camera unusable, practically reverting to an NES controller which is in some ways actually less comfortable to use. This is not at all comparable to PS/Xbox/3DS/WiiU where your left thumb can easily (in the middle of gameplay) switch between analogue stick and d-pad for movement with your right hand remaining over the face buttons.
I'd say that counts as weird placement n_u
The N64 controller also had quite a bit of weirdness for switching between joystick and d-pad from moving the entire left hand (with resulting problems of balance/symmetry and silly appearance), but at least it uses the same face buttons for both and the d-pad itself is decent unlike the ones on gamecube/360
Quote from: Thyme on May 21, 2012, 09:37:55 AM
but not as weird as the c-stick >.<
What was so weird about the c-stick? I think it was better than Gamecube's d-pad and was generally used much more in games.

well, at least it's an actual controller, but i think it's kind of silly to keep both analog sticks at the top. considering the shape and general layout is already almost completely the same as the 360's controller, i don't think anyone would have complained any more if they had just also copied the location of the analog sticks.
then again i don't know the size of the controller, so maybe both sticks at the top won't be a problem when you're actually holding it, but for now i think it's a weird choice. i guess they just wanted to be consistent with the main controller's analog stick locations.
i'm just nitpicking though goowan
