Do you still use instant messengers like AIM and MSN and ICQ(??????) regularly to chat with people.
I talk to a few boyagers via AIM, and use msn/google talk for "buesiness." but alotta people I see, aren't usin messengers any more
Barely. I'm on MSN to talk to some people from other forums or old friends, and every once in a while I'll get on AIM if I need to get ahold of a boyager.
But I can mostly just chat with boyagers right here, so I don't really bother much.
almost never
i used to use them frequently almost exclusively to talk to david about silly things, but about a year ago i started having (more than likely completely unsubstantiated) feelings of paranoia and uninstalled them
I sincerely miss our chats, however. awdood;
i use facebook IM or emails (lol at however the latter happened but it did)

wat
what would make you scared akudood;
High school peers with my contact information. awdood;
i could have blocked them but i would have felt bad, even though blocking is indistinguishable from just not signing in to the person on the other side
i suppose i could create a new screenname though
i should have created another aim screen name ages ago but i'm just that lazy
nah, which is weird after years of aim/msnm use
i only use facebook messenger and steam from now on
i don't really talk to any boyagers that i'm not friends with already on facebook so it's whatever
IM remains my favorite method for one-on-one communication and I doubt that'll change.
but I haven't been using it much lately because apparently most others don't feel the same way. Additionally, Google Talk (XMPP) is my favorite IM protocol and even fewer people use that.
IRC is similar but more focused on group chats and I continue to use it very much
By the way, both Steam chat and Facebook chat are IM systems. Facebook chat in particular is simply XMPP and is supported by out-of-browser clients like Pidgin. Steam's protocol, however, is secret/locked such that no other programs can use it.

I guess I knew that, since i used to use facebook IM through pidgin
although now i just use facebook's page because i'm lazy
I used facebook chat almost constantly, but other than that no. I'll get on aim every once in a while to talk with lawlz if I know he's online, but that's about it.
I talk to a few boyagers on Steam, though I'm really awkward at instant messaging and I hate it.
Nope, I used to be on pretty frequently but now I pretty much just use facebook chat since it doesn't suck complete balls anymore. I used to be on AIM every day, but now I'll only go on if I get a request from a Boyager. The only times I've ever really used MSN were for girls girl;
i don't use aim or msn at all anymore though i used to. i talk to people on fb chat when i'm really bored/they talk to me/I lock myself out of my boyah account and need YPRs help
I use facebook chat pretty regularly. Probably a 2-5 conversations a day. Steam, Skype, and Google Talk probably one conversation a day on average across all three. The only time I sign into AIM is when I need to talk to you about something, Snorkel.
I used to use AIM all the time, now I only ever use my phone or iPod to get on and I hardly ever chat with anyone unless I need to ask them something or they tell me to get on.
never have ugly;
i haven't in like three years
i only ever used AIM and as of late i can't even bother to sign on, partly because i have forgotten about it, partly because it reminds of me of clucky. good times, i miss talking to snorkel all high and shit, conversing with echo about the universe, and generally discussing life.
what's this face book chat for you suckers?
writing and written messages are possibly the best medium for expression.
Rarely. It's used mainly to work on my projects. Even then, most places I go to just use the PM function.
I'm still on Pidgin a good amount because Zyphet and Lawlz won't get a fucking Skype account
I haven't used a formal im application in what seems like years, aside from the integrated Facebook chat. Im bad at conversing through im I feel like I'm so frigging awkward :'(
If I am home and online, I am on aim. So yes, I use them quite a lot.
My best friends use it a lot too so we're always chatting about something and it's easier than being on facebook/texting constantly
Nope. Not unless Facebook counts.
Yes.
I do have a Skype account, but AIM through Pidgin is still about a quadrillion times more convenient on and off of Windows than the auto-updating Skype client. As far as I know, there's no long-term alternative that doesn't require the Skype client to be running anyways. akudood;
also i would rather use e-mail than facebook

uh skype doesn't auto-update for me
although i'm running an old-ass version of it because new versions are shit, and maybe they didn't have auto-update at that point
also tomboh i don't use skype to talk to internet friends because i only use it with certain real life people. i don't want people like you distracting me akudood;
I think I am less akward using internet chat than speaking in real life... . and definitely less awkward than phones

I agree with this 100%
I hate phones, and writing is much easier than talking
i have no trouble talking to boyagers with my voice, whether it be in g+, stream, or on the phone
it's really no different for me from text n_u
but that's just boyagers

Yes I agree and demonstrate both of these. However, if I get to know you sufficiently well over a long and natural period of time, not in a night with a stranger, then I will be just as comfortable communicating with you in any medium and or subject. Unforced, of course.
Also I don't pick up phones. When it rings at home I just let it ring and feel instant rage as that sound pierces straight to my alert area so I feel inclined and I must consciously and painfully override that and try to enjoy my fucking peace which i am entitled do god damn it! And then when I do pick it, up, I am like uh, yeah, what's up, bye. Cellphones, forget it, unless i know exactly who you are and like you.
Usually Steam cause I am signed in 24/7. But I keep missing Felt cause I am gone when he tries. cry;
