Title: fucking power outages
Post by: snoorkel on November 30, 2011, 09:06:22 PM
today was weird. it was really overcast, then a few hours ago these huge gusts started that rattled our windows and sounded like the apocalypse. then the power went out for about an hour, which Is FUucKING PISSES mE OFF BECAUSE I then have to re-open every goddamn thing I had open (text, PDFs, etc) that doesn't automatically reopen itself.

fortunately my phone's battery lasted just long enough so I could watch the second periodn of wild@oilers while the power was out. (ye socks I know I should have said fuck the game gone outside and thrown my naked body upon the spikes of the front gate fence in offering to the wind gods.)

anybody else have this annoyance.

Yeah, whole countries and peoples have this problem, ahem, annoyance. I can only remember two power outages of any significance in the United States, they were years apart and did not last very long. This is good. When I went to Albania last spring, our city lost all municipal water and power services for a few days because 'a pipe blew' and this pipe was in our city and our city did not vote for the incumbent administration in nationwide elections. So that stunk and took some getting used to. We had curfews and limits, they still have them, along with selective and rolling blackouts. You guys don't even want to know how I bathed and groomed my immaculate hair do.

Oh and technogypsie, I am glad that you did not impale yourself for Zephyr's pleasure. We all know that he prefers Filipino women.

Short power outages can be exciting and romantic.  Q('_' Q)

You sound like a Viagra commercial where following a power outage, the two geezers decide to plant and light candles as they hold their old leathery hands and eat a cold dinner, smiling across the table, implying they are raging to fuck each other.

A pair of boots  meets the flimsy wood of the front door and in the quiet aquatic light, the batons fall and fall again.

Just wait until we piss off the Chinese and they start lighting up our cities like a Christmas tree. Can you imagine looking down from space at the United States at night, and all of the country is flickering to the tune of their national anthem? It's possible. We could probably do it to Iran to make applesauce feel better.

Remember when we were in Rwanda and the power went out for a few hours every couple days? And when the water ran out for that one day? That was kinda shitty.

we're feeling the gusts here up the coast too, it's pretty crazy. The power's still out at my house and will be for probably a few more days but I haven't been home so it's no big deal.

A few days?  huhdoodame;

observe for a moment the location of my home, and then consider all the more populated places pg&e has to restore before reaching my neighborhood. the power is still out at my house, so i'm at a friends house in sc because what the fuck would i do there when our power is out and the generator is broken lol

when we get outages at my house we'll often lose power for 2-5 days at a time :|

Oh, hah, I didn't realize you lived so far outside of Santa Cruz. It looks beautiful there, though  giggle;
