Those are government organized thugs. Also the United Kingdom had since 1979 to forsee this. But most importantly the younger generation of Iranians very much Idolize the West and particularly the United States. Any attack on them and we have sealed our fate and handed thr Mullahs another century in power. This is an old region, be patient, the winds of the Arab spring are still marching forward. Don't flrget the unilateral actions the EU and the US took against their central bank just last week, to what amounts to economic warfare.
Don't be another fist waving American.

So does the State Department and the Pentagon and virtually every sane country in the Western world.

I'm now on a quest to find a poster similar to this.
My dealer has one on his wall. First time I was in his apartment it was dark and I didn't notice it until I was leaving, and that I had been sitting under their guns for the whole time I was there. His says Pulp Fiction at the bottom of the image, the one formerly in the British embassy seems more pristine.

I'm not saying we should bomb them. I'm just saying that it makes me mad and that if I were there I would have wanted to lash out at them personally.
Iran is one of my favorite countries.
Snowy you can find that in just about any poster store in the country

I've very jealous. :(
It's actually very ironic because not too long ago I mentioned to him, in passing, that it would be better for it to be wordless, for then people who do not know, will assume something different. He dismissed this at once. And I did not have something like this in mind but I did have something similar and so now I have been justified. But it's not funny because this is what it has comes down too, a dry, morbid sort of humor from the world I love.

Fair enough, I understand. Others may find it absurd but I have felt much as you have for things I have learned, witnessed and escaped. There was a time I learned of the sack of Rome, and it made me boil with rage. Then there is the USS Liberty, which is still a shame and a dark point in history. Because these events, although distant from my home and even time, are not just abstract, but represent everything I know and stand for, acting out, on the world stage. We are each inspired by what we believe in, and when we see that uplifted, oh, it feels so good, but when the tide turns, and that dream has burned, we feel as you do, and want to fight.
But now imagine all of the things that this government, this people, this whole side of ideas and ideologies have done to specific and general areas of the world, of humanity, of their notions and beliefs. From conceptual to concrete. Do you think that guy, looting and raving inside of the embassy feels any different than you do? To him and his world view, this is the very best thing that could possibly happen. To affirm that with more bitterness and animosity is a dead end. It is impossible to undo realities for whole generations in a single swipe. I am not sure what the end game will eventually be, because these opposing attitudes will have to converge and collide, or dance into a brighter future and history.
I'm just hoping for positive things.
