I was walking down the boardwalk near the beach with Gibby Haynes a few weeks ago and we kind of touched on this idea.
I've said it before and I'll say it again tomorrow when I remember to forget I said it, but Brian wilson had a very big role in actually inventing music. He was responsible for an apparatus called "harmony" and he patented it secretly and that led to music being invented.

I like it when I have an open bottle of gin in my hand and I turn up my car's speakers and feel the vibration of the sound waves permulating through the glass and my hand and then my liver and mind.

Notice: permulating is not a sanctioned word.

Drinking and driving socks? That's a no-no.

My intentions allow me to overcome the common sentiments this fact provokes. I mean well and I treat everything seriously, sober or high, whether happy or say, a clown or a policeman. In the end, history won't judge us for technicalities, just gross slander and exaggeration. Wise men tend to see through that. I don't feet peer review. As long as it is honest. A no no to me is like a ribbon, I take great pride in undoing its layers and folds, and then like magic, it is all back together again, unharmed and still beautiful.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Also, tell this to the cop who pulls you and you have an open container in your car.

Too bad that I don't believe in hell then. I don't feel guilty because I am not affecting anyone else and my conscious rest on a deeper understaning of the world. One which sees actions and intentions as the axis of reality, and here I am doing curves in the open plane. I may feel a little spirited but it still always me. And I am the least of anyones intentions either sober or wet.

I have a very good rapport with the police. In general my encounters with them have been pretty routine and normal and in those instance in which they did not simply let me go away they were certainly quick and somber to do the formalities before saying a few farewells and parting on good terms. All the cops I have seen have shown no interest in pursuing any difficult course of action. I have handled everything so far very smoothly and I am confident that I could talk and or maneuver my way out of any really serious with any sort of authority. I don't know what it is, I don't fear the police or prosecution.

Not sure if you're really serious here Socks.
I don't think that defense is going to fly very well if your introspection leads you into a head on collision with a family heading out to the country for a little time away from home.

The long and short of it, you're maneuvering a hunk of steel and plastic at modest speeds while intoxicated. The meaning behind it doesn't matter when shit hits the fan.

I'm a little surprised.

Don't be surprised, if anything of the sort happens it will not have anything to do with me being intoxicated if I happen to be one in of those marauding moods. And it will instead have more to do with time and chance. But we cannot help this and cannot associate a condition with tragedy and bad fate, without care and attention given to the circumstances. The precautions I take and the limits I do not cross have facilitated your curiosity and fostered my confidence and even tone. I am not reckless, or even unorthodox, just misunderstood. My seriousness extends all the way to principle and fact, but I grant you many right Ms and much respect. This is not something that I encourage or condone but it is something that I undertake at various times. We each have our reasons, we each await our fate. Come what may, I know it's going to take more than this to bring me down.
