Title: Posters/Wall decoration
Post by: LCK on October 10, 2011, 08:58:51 PM
What have you got up?

I typically hate posters. I hate knowing that so many other people have it and it makes it feel so unoriginal. And this makes me feel a little pretentious
but oh well

I've got a poster of Claude Monet's "Water Lilies" and another piece that I don't remember the name of. The colors of both are great accent to my green and blue walls.

I've also got a Chinese scroll with a nice water scene on it that I bought in china town

on one wall i have it covered with pictures of friends, concert tickets, show tickets and event posters and stuff

how about you

A list of the first 150 Pokemon from Firered/Leafgreen artwork

Taken to college, but I haven't put them up because they apparently don't want me to use tape on their walls:
A hatsune miku poster
A small (about A4-size) Haruhi Disappearance poster
A list of the first 493 Pokemon for HeartGold/SoulSilver

Yeah I have a bunch of posters that I'm not using right now... Idk, it seemed like a freshman thing to decorate my room with posters so I used some other stuff naturally girl;

Right now I have a mirror, a Prague 2012 calendar, a Czech flag, a German flag, a miniature Budweiser Budvar towel, an Eintracht Frankfurt soccer scarf, and beer coasters I collected from Europe lining the barrier between my wall and ceiling

My mom just sent me some halloween lights, I may decide to make a shape out of them and put those on the wall

Are your walls like perfectly painted freshly hung drywall? They won't be able to see any marks, and the people who clean rooms at the end of the year don't really give a shit probably.

also, i was considering getting a movie poster or two. i was thinking something pretty old, very classic "hollywood" movie poster style. like 50s and older.

was thinking maybe a hitchcock film? how does boyah feel about this rear window poster?

was also considering maybe a classic Universal monster movie poster of some sort

one of them is by rimbaud, i think
I CAN'T READ IN FRENCH SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT SAYS
also, a lot of books are on the wall
hanging book shelves
books upon books about mysticism and philosophy/psychoanalysis

also some clocks are on the wall
at my other place everything on the wall is either related to art deco prints or glasswork

Christopher Lee is one of my favorite actors, though to be honest I haven't spent too much time with his Hammer horror films

I saw one where he didn't talk, and I later found out it was because the script was so bad that he couldn't bring himself to say what was written.

but yeah those movie posters are pretty cool.

i have heard that rumor too and i think it's about the film "Dracula Has Risen from His Grave" which is the fourth Hammer Dracula film i think

I agree with disliking how unoriginal most posters are, but I still think a room looks better with them than without them. I really want to frame some of my posters. Makes them look so much better.

But just looking around my room here are all my posters:
Ray Allen (from the Seattle Sonics)
Flight of the Conchords
Halo 3
Some vintage 3d blacklight poster
Watchmen
Streetfighter
Starcraft 2
Rocky
Another Seattle Sonics poster
It's always sunny in philidephia
3 Prints that I bought from this awesome guy in his garage
Breaking bad

I also have a huge tapestry of "Starry Night" over my bed

I also have a muse poster that i don't put up because I don't like muse anymore
anyone want it

I don't have a whole lot of posters up, but I do have a Kaz across from my bed and an Echo on the wall next to it. I'm thinking of putting a silvertone on my door but I think it might be too distracting.
