for two people, round trip from winona to chicago
i want to surprise my girlfriend with fleet foxes tickets in chicago but i don't know how we'll get there akudood;
..or where we'll stay
Jefferson Lines, one of the cheaper bus services around here apparently doesn't travel anywhere in Illinois for some god forsaken reason akudood;
and a train to chicago from here is $107 each way, and I don't have $428 to spend on transportation
i wish i just had a car ;-;
lookup boats
I think trains are only marginally cheaper than planes.
You might be able to find some good bus deal, like those MEGA BUS things I've heard are pretty cheap?
applesauce will surely know wariodood;
$28 per seat on megabus n_u
i looked at that earlier, but it only departs from minneapolis and i have no way of getting there either

there must be some express city bus line from Winona to Minneapolis, right? Pay your friend 5 buck?
Amtrak is $107 each way?! Are you looking at like this week or something? I usually pay $45-70 each way Minneapolis-Chicago. Gotta book in advance.
Megabus is by far the cheapest MSP-Chicago when booked in advance, but they skip all the small towns, you you'd have to get to MSP or Madison first. Megabus is really cheap if booked a couple months in advance, but gets more expensive as you get closer. Do Greyhound or Jefferson serve Winona? My guess would be that greyhound doesn't.

my friend just took the amtrak to chicago yesterday and it was $107 each way, he said he booked in advance, but i've never seen him not high and/or drunk, so i dunno
I just looked myself and it's still $82 each way when booking in advance for september 30th and a return date of october 2nd
jefferson definitely serves winona, but apparently they don't go to chicago?
I definitely want to get the megabus option to work out

If I still lived there I'd give you a ride baddood;
i feel like that would be quite an adventure n_u
I know for a fact that you can get to Chicago via Jefferson Lines. Minneapolis has a gate specifically for getting a transfer that will go to Chicago. You probably transfer to a Greyhound...so you'll want to look up the route on Greyhound's site, not Jefferson's.

Stowaway on boats or freights, it'd be the best story ever
All for fleet foxes lol
