i will agree that snorkel is being a little harsh about it, but i also think he's dead-on in grouping them with say anything and motion city soundtrack as mediocre teen girl bands. they're obviously better than kesha and toby keith, but there is just so much better music out there.

Although, religion can get trendy depending on who decides to pick it up and promote it these days. And taking a different thought on it, you could say that religion has been the trend for the last few millenia or so.

I don't really know nor have put any thought into what makes a trend, or what is a trend, or what trends are going on now. (Not consciously anyway.)
But yeah, the iPhone I feel was kind of a trend or novelty. Though I guess when it first came out it was a one of a kind thing. I'm not sure what else was out back then that was like it. Though I do think that there were other phones that could do most of what the iPhone could do. But I wasn't really paying attention. And nowadays there's tons of that stuff.
