I havent updated in a while, alot of the stuff on the plan to watch list have been watched.
Does anyone else take the time to write reviews and rate and stuff?
well i always rate if it's something i've finished, and that takes no time at all anyway
but reviews? considered it, but ehh...never really felt like it.
>it may take 30 minutes for your new picture to show up
>>2 hours later no change
god I hate how slow it is
my stats only started updating again yesterday after about two weeks of broken-ness
but in general it's still not anywhere near as bad as the like three months of complete stats broken-ness that ended shortly after david and nyerp joined
24 hours later
no change
awdood;
but yea I didn't even actually notice the stats were broken until my friend told me and complained about it
i saw your new avatar earlier, echo

well, most lists, even if they're customized a bit, still look mostly like the default ones. i've never seen custom buttons for watching, completed, etc...and certainly have never seen them on the side of a page like that either.
i dunno, i was just surprised that someone put so much work into making their list look so snazzy. it's pretty cool. i thought what you could do with MAL was more limited.
i mean, what is his specifically supposed to look like, this is what it looks like for me:
(http://i54.tinypic.com/2uiwzdc.jpg)
wow, what? is it a chrome issue maybe? this is what it should look like:
(http://i.imgur.com/Okd33.jpg)
oops, i cut a bunch of it off in the screenshot utility i was using. mostly just the blank edges on either side. it's not actually that cramped in the actual page.
still, you get the idea.
hm, it does seem to be an issue with chrome goowan
I think it is a David chrome error cause it showed first time for me.
or a chrome 13 issue specifically

for someone like me, who loves keeping track of what they've seen, it's ideal
it's also an ideal way to keep track of what i want to watch in the future. and it's just fun, i dunno. it's hard to explain my obsession.

dude, my completed list is over a hundred long. i'm not going to just
remember all that. i'd rather have it remembered for me in a way that i can show off.
sillydood;
and writing it down is sloppy and boring
but why not use mal lol

yeah there's no community in simply making a list for myself for nobody else to ever see
that'd be boring

You can fully change the CSS as you see fit, I believe. MAL also lets you set the list's default view to only show one category at a time, which he uses and then styles the category switching buttons to have large pictures.
Though I know how to, I don't care for making mine fancy so I don't bother and just use the default dark theme.

I prefer to use plaintext files and a text editor over some strange app for keeping track of various lists like this sillydood;
And like was said earlier, it's nice to be able to easily show off the list. Mine is even longer than Kaz's, at like 132 or so completed series and 8 currently watching.
Quote from: Snowy Deluxe on July 28, 2011, 05:00:20 PM
Because you'd have to pause your anime. baddood;
Not at all, especially if you either watch anime in windowed (non-fullscreen) mode or have multiple monitors. You don't necessarily
need to press the + episode count button immediately after watching every single episode either.
Back when I first started readin' the manga online I just used to keep track of stuff I've read and completed with my browser bookmarks. I did that for a year. It was pretty horrible. But MAL is pretty good for having a database of everything you've watched/read or finding new things to watch.
snowy's just mad because if he actually made a MAL he'd only have like 10 in completed nyandood;

IDK about everyone else but I have occasionally forgot the name of an anime I watched and then many months later went back and started watching it again only to realise it five minutes into the episode. With MAL I can check before I even start, and it also makes keeping up with the episodes I am on with multiple series a lot easier.
regarding: http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Razziell
If I had the time and knew someone besides me was looking at my list, I would put the time into it for something as nice as that. I just use MAL as a list.
I dont use the MAL forums or anything so the community is pretty detached from me, but I know Kaz is on there pretty often and makes friends and stuff, people leaving messages on his wall... so I feel bad for that man.
uh i may be on there often but i haven't made "a lot of friends," or any friends in fact, other than boyagers...although i have had some small talk with a few users who PM'd me or posted on my "wall" as you call it
but i also don't get a lot of posts on that, so idk what you're talking about
I have person leaving messages on my wall all the time on mal
My list is a bit more stylized but keeps the same table format as the basic lists do, but I changed most of what you can on it.

gudo jobu wrench;
my stat for "time (days)" has gone down by a whole 8 days because i discovered last night that it (and the episode count) takes rewatches into account
i could have left it, but i felt like it was artificially inflating it and i'd rather just have a stat that's more fair and square.
the biggest culprits were cowboy bebop and evangelion, since i have indeed rewatched them many, many times. those two alone were adding an extra like 400 episodes because of rewatches.
lol i'm keeping the shows i rewatched through stream~

Does everything get hacked these days?

So um my display pic still hasn't changed
I even tried removing my old one but when I upload a new one it just puts the old one back up anyways
kaz already explained this
just deal with it and wait it out
It takes the mal servers a long time to recognize a changed profile picture, but for some reason it takes the web browsers even longer to replace the cached picture.
Only on MAL, even the function that's supposed to clear the browser cache can still leave me with an old cached picture at the same time that a browser I've never used will display a new one doodhuh;
So no Boyah club on MAL yet?

if you want it to be that accurate you might as well place it in an exact ranking amongst every anime you've seen

From a review of EoE:
"Do NOT watch this movie. It is the single most soul-crushingly depressing thing ever spawned from the depths of human imagination. It takes all of the closure, hopes, and expectations you had for the end of the series and blasts them into the sun. It is the single worst possible ending to anything EVER."
it's not really any different in its ultimate conclusion from the series ending so i dunno what they expected
it's just a massively expanded, much more detailed version of said ending without the vagueness of shinji's choice

i dunno, maybe they thought that since they were making a movie to do a new ending it would be a more traditional ending. like shinji mans up and saves the day and maybe someone minor dies but for the most part its happy and no one masturbates to teenagers in comas
i guess they didn't realize how angry anno was when he made the movie
why do mal signatures never update ever
Does mal update ever?
