Posted to get some activity going.
Where would you travel to in it?
I would probably travel back in time before Whorehay Lucas started planning the first Star Wars prequels. Other than that I would travel back to my first year of highschool and rework my study habits.
Anyone with half a brain knows you can't actually mess anything up if you were somehow able to travel back in time. You'd mess up the space time continuum

Plus a time machine wouldn't allow you to BECOME your past self. Instead, there would be two versions of yourself. That's why the future is the only way to go~~~~

In the future there would still be two versions of yourself it would just be less likely to fuck up things that you would experience. Everything from that point on would be abnormal though.
And if you were to run into yourself you'd pretty much tear a hole in the fabric of time

Yeah, and you never said what kind of time machine it was. It could very well be the "magic button that allows you to go back and change earlier events of your life" kind.
I'd definitely try to change a few things with my relationship with my then-girlfriend with such a button. :(
that sure is a lot of "with"
Unless you go so deep into the future that your other self is already dead. But then you can figure out how you die which could fuck shit up.

They type of time machine doesn't matter though.
The button would lead you to a logical paradox. If you go back in time to change something, that means your future self would have no reason to travel back in time, making it not work.

No, no, no.
It would be like Zelda's split time line theory. There would then be TWO time lines and two future selves. n_u

Well that is if you think that a time line can split in such a manner.

It would be interesting to see if games of luck and chance always have the same outcome. I hypothesize it wouldn't just because I'm a fun-killing nazi. Reichdood;
I would provide an infantile version of myself with a list of things to do (or not do) later in life. girl;
i'm not sure how i'd keep myself from misplacing that list however akudood;

I am a fun killing nazi too Reichdood;
I would say the likelihood of a game of luck/chance having the same outcome a second time is damn near impossible (almost as impossible as time travel itself)
The only way I would imagine it would is it events are actually set into motion and played almost like a movie. Making the contest not random chance but just what I guess I could call fate.
But what would account for the divergence in the path of the balls? Seems like time travel would be worthless on that case because history is the result of many such random chances

Other historic events would be more of a causality thing.
The balls landing on certain numbers really wouldn't have anything like that. It would just be complete random chance.
But it's based on physics so it's not really random... And if it was and such a random event can so drastically change someone's life then I would find it hard to argue it couldn't change history
