I honestly didn't expect this.  I'm sort of glad that Nokia went this route, I think it would have been very hard for Nokia [just like it has been for smaller phone manufacturers] to differentiate itself from the horde of Android phones that will be coming out in the near future.  I just hope Nokia has good hardware to backup its decision to use Windows Phone 7.

The one thing that does worry me however, is how Nokia has apparently been granted special permission to customise all aspects of the OS (http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/11/nokia-will-be-able-to-customize-everything-in-windows-phone-7/).  I can only hope that it doesn't lead to an Android-like scenario when it comes to software updates.  And that other manufactures [especially HTC] are not given the same freedom with the OS.  n_u

What do you not like about HTC? What's so great about Nokia?

Its skinning.  I have a feeling it would try to more or less port all of Sense to WP7 making its already bland offerings for the platform all the more bland. goowan

And Nokia can make decent hardware if it tries.

Uh, pretty much all Android phones are skinned. I think the only that aren't skinned are the Google phones (Nexus One and Nexus S). Besides, WP7 is closed so I don't think they would try skinning it.
