I think it's kind of selfish. I'm buying close friends gifts, just because I want to see them happy, not because I expect any gifts in return. However it is annoying to me when people expect me to get them a christmas gift. I don't have to get you anything at all.
Anyone here actually follow this code?
That's the wrong attitude to have, you Scrooge. akudood;
I try to make all my gifts out of stuff I already have, therefore don't have to spend any money at all.
But yes, I know what you're talking about and it is obnoxious.
i wasn't aware this "code" existed
i give gifts to who i want to give gifts to regardless of whether they're giving me anything
I do not care if I get something in return honestly. It is nice and all but it is not the purpose of gifting.

Kono is voicing his opinion AGAINST it, not supporting it
read the post, Tyler, not just the thread title n_u
I don't know how to read. :'(
Yes because I'm not made of fucking money. Plus then I avoid the awkwardness when I get a gift and I didn't get them shit in return.
i give people gifts in secret
i don't even give out my name sometimes
it makes it even much more special since they can assume it came from a loved one and that loved one can lie about getting it for them bassir;
*excludes my friend because he's an asshole and the only person who cares about him is me huehauehauha
I don't give my friends anything for chrismtas.
Just family members.
for a lot of my friends we give the gift of not having to get each other gifts
