I just went through the process of finding the best cable internet option for my apartment, and it came down to
Comcast 15mbps - $50/mo
Qwest 12mbps - $40/mo then $60/mo after 6 months
This is a ridiculous price for a slow, low-quality connection. These two providers are the ONLY options, adjacent to downtown Minneapolis :'(
I want some FiOS
Move to a less shitty town or one that has FiOS.
I'm moving away from a city that offers FiOS to a city bought out by the telcos. Hmm, what a wise move. My FiOS service has random outages and poor customer service, so the alternatives can't be that much different.
The speed's not that horrible doodhuh;
But yes it is overpriced akudood;
I have some special deal with Comcast that is like $40 a month I get like 13down and 3up, but the speed tests have been getting weird results.

I think it's my router, when the Comcast tech did a speed test, it was like 20down and 6up. Each speed test is different each time.

It could also be all the fucking routers raping channel 6. Who knows.
we pay like $35-40 a month for 7mbps
That's bad to American standards? Shit, I need to move.
"High" speeds and silly-fast speeds for Videotron and Bell:
Videotron 7,5 mbps - $52/mo (30gb/mo download cap!!) <- the one we have
Videotron 50 mbps - $81,95/mo (125gb/mo download cap!!)
Bell 6 mbps - $31,95 (25gb/mo)
Bell 25mbps - $52,95 (75gb/mo)
There's a few in-between each pairs, don't feel like listing them all.
I've been trying to convince my parents to change to Teksavvy (no download cap), but to no avail. I don't care that much about speed, something like 6 mbps is quite enough for me, I just don't want that fucking download cap. I guess my parents like to uselessly pay for shit.
FUCK THIS COUNTRY INTERNET IS EXPENSIVE IM MOVING TO CANADA FUCK YOU
Wow, that's pretty bad, the prices that is. You would be surprised how slower speeds like that are not too noticeable.
