So my dad told me this morning that theres like 33 miners in Chile trapped underground. Saddest part is the soonest they can get them out was estimated to be around christmas time. They have about 600x600ft living space and food and other things like antidepressants are lowered down through a small hole
why the fuck would it take until christmas to get them out, for Gods sake this is the 21st century

WE HAVE TECHNOLOGY[/spoiler]
Well I am sure they could drill faster and all but that puts them at risk of collapsing the small area that they are in.
I don't think I could handle living in a mine shaft like that for months and months. I am scared to think of my mental state after getting out.
That sounds somewhat fun and enjoyable.

That's the problem.
They need to drill in a way that won't collapse the shaft on the miners.
I think they'd rather be stuck in there for a few months than dead.
I wonder if they have soap to drop confuseddood;
Also I hope they get paid hourly

Yeah, this.
The company that owns that mine shaft better pay them the $45 they earn while they're down there.
I read that they could go faster but that would be like a 97% chance of survival as opposed to a 99%. I guess you don't want to fuck around.
man that's crazy. must really SUCK down there

because they're half a mile underground and boring into spaces containing people half a mile underground is difficult, especially in chile

heroin would be the logical choice, they'd be happy, no whining, and you don't have to feed them!
Wouldn't there be some harmful material in the air that they shouldn't inhale after a while? doodhuh;

i hope they make a movie off of this and that is part of the plot
QuoteSan Esteban, the company that operates the mine, has said it has no money to pay their wages and absorb lawsuits, and is not even participating in the rescue. State-run mining company Codelco has taken over.
