IMO, I have too many game shortcuts, I really should delete them since I run them all off of Steam anyway, but it's sort of nice to have them on hand, but it looks a little cluttered.

For videogame shortcuts, you should do what my friend does and use rocketdock and put it right above the taskbar, and put all the videogame shortcuts on the dock with their boxarts. It looks really good.

I find that some of them have too much detail and some too little for my taste. Charizard isn't even my favorite pokemon, I just love the way it looks.
I also love the Mudkip, Registeel, and Gallade ones. Also, looking back, Latios and Latias are pretty cool.

Yeah, some (like Squirtle, unfortunately) are almost too simplistic, but I really love him. Mewtoo was probably my favorite of the bunch. I think I'll switch back to him.
