Today, as I was entering the city where my school is located, I decided to run the light which had just turned red. I looked in my rear view as I passed under the lights and noticed a fire engine behind me, also running the light.
I decided to run the next light too. However, as I was passing under the light it quickly turned green. I looked in my mirror again and noticed that little light on the fire engine was flashing(not the sirens). The fire engine was turning every light green so it didn't have to stop.
The fire engine remained behind me, turning every light green, eliminating the need for me to stop. This continued until I pulled into my school's parking lot. It was awesome.
akudood;
i've never seen fire engines or police remotely turn lights green here. how and why is that possible.

There's a little censor on the lights that, when flashed with a light at a certain frequency, will change the light.

If there's a firetruck driving fast you're supposed to pull over to the side and let it pass baddood;

i don't, but i'm not wrong about that baddood;
It is generally recommended that you do not change the way you're driving unless the emergency vehicle has its lights and its sirens on, Hiro. They actually want to avoid people panicking and slowing down in an attempt to pull over, because that backs up traffic and potentially slows down the aforementioned emergency vehicle.
So actually, yeah, you are wrong. Congrats.
