Just got my SAT Scores back and I am so happy hocuspocus;
Critical Reading: 570 72%
Math: 650 85%
Writing: 590 79%
1810 total.
Considering that I had a 1450 on my last SAT, this is great news.
Good to hear, dearie. Well done on the math. When did you take them?

It's an economic system with direct and inherent political applicaitons, to the extent that there is a socialist party, as in a manner of running government, as much as there is a democratic manner and a republican manner and libertarian and fuck-all manner of doing things.
Anyway, SAT doesn't test intelligence. It tests response under pressure for a useless goal, knowledge of basic math, and typical english linguistic patterns and reasoning styles. Not leadership or common sense or compassion or a sense of identity or curiosity or anything else midly important.
That being said, it's certainly convenient to have higher scores.

I took it for the first time same day you did. Today I found out that I got a 1780.
Fuck my parents. Fucking criticizing me for trying my hardest on a shitty fucking useless test. Fuck everyone.
You didn't do too bad. :[
Today I just found out two of my friends scored just above 2200. I'm scared to take the SAT and get under 2000. I'll probably take it during the second half of the school year.

Hey basic math is pretty important
i'm taking it next weekend.
I think i'm going to do bad. I've been studying but...
...whatever.
I'm in the top 4% in my class. But I took the PSAT and did really shitty.
haha.

As is basic english skills! Folks gotta write papers, folks gotta write resumes, folks gotta file court orders, folks gotta add, folks gotta know proportions to cook, folks gotta know how to interact in these ways
But that's not intelligence, and it's not the core substance for any of those activities anway: having structure and purpose, knowing how to present yourself ideally, knowing how to write legalese, knowing the context of what you're adding, how to follow a recipe, how to have substance in your thought.
You can't have standardization and control if we have a bunch of Platolikes running around with their self educated thoughtfulness.

Control is what a government, moral system, economic culture, and manners are for. I agree that education must be practical, which is exactly what the SAT isn't. The world would be absolutely 100% fine without it, especially if we used all the money and effort that goes into the testing in English and Math classes. Everybody should have some formalized education, yeah.

Find a mountain and build a cabin and shit.
Ever see that one guy who went up to alaska and lived alone and built a log cabin and lived off the land and filmed the whole damn thing?
One man wilderness or something.
I forget.

I have actually. I remember a series they had on WHYY about it a while back. And this man was the OG of such things, I think he started as far back as in the 60s. Interesting life and circumstances he experienced and filmed.
1500000 yeah.

Me either.
I got a 2150
which mostly means colleges gave me free money despite my meh grades
The first time I took it I got a 1900 on the dot, which is much higher than I thought I would get....I'm taking it again on the 7th. Hopefully I'll do okay.
Speaking of which, I just applied to my first college, rolling admission. Even if my other seven schools go down the shitter...there's no way U of Michigan won't take me. happydood;
I took the PSAT a few weeks ago. It was easy enough but I got distracted on the last section by a dripping nose, and I didn't want to get up and possibly have my test ripped up so that sucked akudood;
No matter what I get on the SAT I'll probably beat myself up for it. Unless if I get a 2400, which I won't.
Tomorrow I have to wake up at 8 to go to a SAT class. baddood;
Critical reading: 560
Math: 680
Writing: 740
Total: 1980
I think that was my score the second time around
If I added all my best scores together I think I just barely passed the 2K mark with 2010

Well done badass
560 is below the ranges that a lot of places look for, but your performance on the writing is exemplary of your hold on the english language, and as long as colleges looked at that section, they saw "Holy shit, maybe she doesn't have the best vocabulary skills, but this one can write!" Math's solid too.

I should hope. SAT scores are mattering less and less, and my grades are great, but not good enough for a lot of the places I'm looking at.

So they're what? As with a handful of Bs sprinkled here and there?

B+/A- average, more around the B/B+ part in Freshman year and pretty solidly A- this year. Grades I'm happy with, but for a few of those schools (especially McGill, which does an awful job at factoring in the difficulty of the school, and Brown and U of C), that's not their average GPA.

As and Bs in what? In "Honours" and AP courses? You're in.
At my school, if you got a 690 on the writing SAT then you can place out of the 2 composition courses you have to take.
I got a 640.
