What songs do you consider most depressing, or do you listen to while depressed (lots of people do this, including me, it actually helps more than happy music to make me feel better)
Mine are...
Gone too Soon - Michael Jackson
Love Dog - TV On the Radio
Dosed - RHCP
El Manana - Gorillaz
With Twilight as My Guide - Mars Volta
Want depressing? Listen to mad world by gary jules.
Song from donnie darko.
I don't know about depressing, but "My Hero" by Foo Fighters gives me a bigger emotional reaction than any other song I can think of. Beautiful.
"Kristy are you doing ok?"-The Offspring
I dont know. Depressing is different from sad. Maybe you meant sad right?
Then there's different types of sad.
Like reflective sad. Or introspective sad. Or sad sad.
There's the generics
Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah.
Wicked game by chris Isaak.
Blah blah.
Haha, this always kills me.

Yes. Especially "Bear" and "Epilogue."
Green Fields of France - Dropkick Murphys
Sounds of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel
The Funeral - Band of Horses
Jezebel - Iron & Wine; Don't know if it's even supposed to be sad, but I usually only listen to it when in that mood
Ain't no sunshine - Bill Withers.
A Day Without Rain - Enya

Anything, and I mean anything, ever recorded in studio by the Arcade Fire. I have heard their albums, EPs, live sets, demos, covers, and all, nearly 200 cuts, and I have heard nothing that was moderately happy...maybe the christmas EP, but that wasn't really them. Funeral is just god in that respect.
Ma Fleur - The Cinematic Orchestra
Throne... - Le Loup.
For Emma ,Forever Ago - Bon Iver
el manana - gorillaz
lucky - radiohead
caramel - blur
everything by bon iver
can't think of others right now

Arcade fire's more optimistic sad, though. Maybe melancholy's a better word.

It is simultaneously sad and happy as Shitman the Barbarian at the same time.
It's awesome. :3
Partly by association. Blue gets me the same way, I cried at the end. :3
Arcade Fire...man, what gets me about them is that they put everything on the table right there. All of their feelings of displacement and pain and loss and frustration and melancholy and short, brilliant hope all mix together. Maybe sad is less accurate, but their music certainly recognizes a tragic aspect in the world.
