Post by: Andria on September 17, 2009, 12:38:20 PM
I saw this one giz  giggle; microsoft is offering windows 7 upgrades for 30 dollars to university and college students across the united states.
http://www.win741.com/
Just go there and click the buy square that also says 29.99 put in your school email and then in like 20 minutes they email you giving you a link and log in where you can purchase it at the lower price. The deal is good till january too so if you don't have 30 now there is no big hurry

Oh and you can get either home premium or pro

Only college students are eligible :(

Also, is it an upgrade license (that requires Vista) or is it a normal copy?

It's a normal copy.  Or it appears to be so from skimming the FAQ.

I don't have a real version of Vista, anyone find out for sure if I can get it for $30 w/o Vista?

Seriously, ~$400 without Vista is fuckbuckets.

To get pro after you go to the link in the email click where it says "Need to join your school's network domain?"
