Found out that my class in college lets me into the MSDN accounts for the school and I got myself Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Its alright I guess, the superbar is nice to use once you get used to how it works exactly. It basically is a OS X dock in a simple sense, but it keeps the functionality of the task bar. Now I get to have a crapload of windows open without worrying about running out of horizontal space baddood; (But I rarely had issues to begin with).

Yeah working on the highlighted.
really, any advice on that? I understand it could just be in use elsewhere, but 1.3GB is a lot to be used somewhere else, more so since I didn't have this issue in Vista with my graphics card.
My biggest concern is, can you actually install drivers without the cd easily.
Like, install some old ass webcam you have easily or something.
From what I know, the 64 bit drivers have to be signed ones (whatever that means), but installing the drivers is the same as any windows OS. I haven't had any driver issues yet with my laptop.

Thats shitty. My printer doesn't work with vista as well as my webcam.

I think there's a way to disable the signature requirement though.

my 64-bit Snow Leopard doesn't work with quite a lot of popular PCI wireless cards

TOO BAD THE NIGGERS AT GEEK SQUAD WILL HOLD IT FOR 2 DAYS
I get my dl link today but I probably will wait till I get the cd to upgrade just cause it is more convenient than me having to burn my own disc

scratch that
it's now a goddamn week
So is the upgrade with it? O_0
Oh my god everything is actually pretty bad ass. No huge changes but it's just well displayed. The devices folder is awesome, before it was a pain in the ass to find anything you put into a computer. I can't believe it was only $30.

Actually I don't think Mondays are good for me but thanks.
If her computer has good specs, I don't see why she wouldn't upgrade to Windows 7. From my time using Windows 7 back in June, it was pretty good with drivers [I don't think I had to install anything myself besides the audio driver]. befuddlement
I really like 7 but for some fucking reason there is a "network" tab that will not go away. I would do anything.
I just installed it last night. I love what I see. It's also running a lot better than Vista was for me, but it's possible that it's because Vista was pirated.
Well i can't get windows 7 unless i pay...
or get a torrent
my friend got a free download and it looks great
i was hoping to upgrade the same day i upgraded my ubuntu
but i windows 7 wasn't free like ubuntu 9.10 so oh well

It is only $30. Worth it if you use Windows XP or Vista as your main OS.
I get it free for my lap top. And would have to pay for my desk top. Maybe I will wait and see how it goes. baddood;
