So I was curious as to what Queens of the Stone Age was planning for the future so I looked them up on wikipedia and found out about this group. What I saw got me more excited for any music release than I can remember. Here's the lineup:
Dave Grohl - drums
Josh Homme - vocals, guitar
John Paul Jones - bass, keyboard
I mean holy shit, a lovechild of Queens of the Stone Age and Led Zeppelin? I have no words to properly describe how amazing this could possibly be.
Album should be out in October. I can't fucking wait.
Yeah, i heard about that. Could be good, could be mediocre, we'll have to see
Good to see "keyboard" in JPJ's instruments...hopefully he's still as amazing on the keys as he used to be. I really doubt it'll be much Led Zeppelin influence but who knows. Let's hope for the best.

The samples sounds pretty awesome.

Go to the link above. You can definitely hear the Zeppelin in there.

Nice guitar tone. Can't wait to see how much bluesy stuff these guys will churn out. The world needs more blues, always.
I might go up to Boston to see these guys in October. Not sure yet.

Keep me posted. If it's as good as it sounds, I'd get a ticket.
They're fifty fucking bucks >.<
Actually...I might save for that. Or just sell more video games. I hope there's still time to get tix.
Not to be creepy, or anything. giggle; I'd just get GA and hang out.
No tix available on ticketmaster. If you find an email / craigslist deal, I'd chip in.

Fifty bucks is worth it. These are three musicians who I seriously look up to a LOT. Worth every penny.
Also awsum.
EDIT: Found two tickets for $150 on craigslist. I'll keep my eyes out to see if maybe I can get a better deal as the date gets closer but I dunno.
I don't really like anything by anyone in that band besides David Grohl and only his work in nirvana and Scream

you didn't like JPJ in Led Zeppelin? doodthing;
It's good that Grohl is drumming again. He went from excellent to mediocre with Foo Fighters.

Ticketmaster supposedly releases more tix as the date gets closer, but I've never gotten tix that way. Either you get an internet deal, or you show up day-of and hope to find a kind scalper.
THEY'RE PLAYING IN NEW YORK. TICKETS GO ON SALE TOMORROW.
JIZZ. EVERYWHERE.

I'm actually not surprised by this. Led Zeppelin is losing popularity as they're becoming more overplayed. I love them but even I barely listen to them these days. I bet everyone in Williamsburg would high-five you for hating Led Zeppelin.
GOT MY TICKET.
HOLY SHIT I'M SO EXCITED.
ALBUM IS OUT ON YOUTUBE

Everyone knows the best supergroup was the traveling wilburys.
I don't get classic rock.

Josh Homme has the perfect voice for this kind of music though. But, I'll admit, he does sound a bit of in that song.
That said, Scumbag Blues is fucking amazing. The clavinet is so awesome.

Scumbag Blues is my favorite so far, though I really like Gunman too.

I already learned Gunman on bass. baddood;
listening to it now
"Elephants" is just ending, it was so far the best song on the album
I listened to No One Loves Me and Neither Do I
And I love it
I'd much rather wait till the album is released to listen to it in it's entirety. Just preference. But I'll be sure to get this.
scumbag blues reminds me of Cream

That's what all the comments say too. I never really listened to Cream so I can't add my input there. Maybe I should start listening to cream since that's my favorite on the album.
Favorite is Reptiles, for the record.

What
You said Scumbag Blues was your favorite, and immediately after that, you say Reptiles is your favorite.
Okay so I listened to a couple of songs, and I didn't find it particularly exciting, but the guitar work was excellent and it was well-done overall. Not really my thing though, nothing caught my attention a whole lot.

I said Scumbag Blues is "fucking amazing." And it is.
EDIT: meant to and thought I said second favorite in that post. ops
cream fucking rules
My only complaint is the singing, don't get me wrong I love the dude in QotSA and how he sings in that band but here he just doesn't fit Imo.
Btw Yes I can hear the Led Zep & Nirvana in some of the songs
The album's alright so far, not really my type of music saddood;
i would like the band more if it had a bit more "dirt" so to speak
it's almost too polished at times for this pseudo-blues (mixed with QotSA) stuff
but i still like them, i'm considering picking up this album
......never heard of em

I'm not surprised. If you like Queens of the Stone Age go check this stuff out.
Ill check em out later

I feel like if they replaced the Queens of the Stone Age guy with Jack White, the band would be 32x better baddood;
I saw these guys live a month or two ago and they fucking killed. Dave Grohl is one of my favorite drummers ever and seeing him pound the shit out of his kit for an hour was pretty glorious.
It also helps that their songs are legitimately good. The album is better than the last two Queens of the Stone Age albums.
