Title: Hard drive to USB
Post by: The artist formally known on August 16, 2009, 07:30:44 PM
I saw tons of hard drive to USB cords on eBay but wanted to make sure I got the right one. Here is the hard drive. It's from a laptop.

You need a IDE to USB bridge, and I'm not sure where'd you find a bridge to fit a laptop hard drive.

Actually, that looks like SATA, but I can't tell exactly.

I have a SATA/IDE to USB but it doesn't fit.

That looks like a 2.5" IDE drive with an adapter stuck on it for the laptop's disk interface (some modified PATA standard)... can you pull part of it off to reveal the typical 40-pin IDE plug? I could be wrong (can't tell from the photo if it is indeed an adapter plugged in) but I know a lot of laptop drives are like that.
