Title: New phones
Post by: NOA_Haunted on July 23, 2009, 08:34:21 AM
Is it me, or does it seem like every new phone to come out is either a smartphone or a touch screen phone? Also, hybrids of the two!

It's a good thing.

Also, I had to bring my sister to the Sprint store today and I played around with a Palm Pre.  I really hate the feeling of the screen. Rather than the touch screen feel you're used to(iPhone, DS, etc) it basically has that plastic feel of the whole device(also back of iPhone, Wii controller) and it just felt off.

Now to find a place where I can screw around with an HTC Hero.

iPhone hocuspocus;
Sprint charges more for the G1 than AT&T charges for the iPhone.

T-Mobile chargest slightly less. I'm pretty sure the hero costs more.

uh i can't find any prices since it's in the US but i found a random thing on google saying the msrp is 200 which is around what the iPhone is.

you really can't get a consistent price on any phone since they're all usually like 600 dollars for a smartphone and the cost is whatever the carrier wants to subsidize

The G1 is actually relatively cheap for Tmobile now because it's successor, the Magic, is coming out in August

I think the leaked specs for SE's Andriod phone sound nice.

But then I remember that it takes forever for their phones to come out, and then even longer for a US carrier to subsidise them. :'(
