It probably uses the same pricing structure as the current iPhone, so the cheapest plan you could get would be $69.99.  Oh, and that wouldn't even included messaging.

A month? Are you sure?

My girlfriend and friend both get internet, talk, and messaging for about $30 or something a month.

That's if you have a family plan. It'd be the base family plan package monthly price + 30 bucks a month unlimited data + 10 bucks a month voice line + $x a month for a SMS plan.

I'll be getting one in a few weeks. I'm upgrading because of the processor and the compass.

I doubt that Apple would make a CDMA version of the iPhone.  Though, if I recall, Verizon is going with LTE, so maybe an LTE iPhone could come out around 2011-2012.  befuddlement

I also remember seeing somewhere that LTE doesn't have a voice protocol, so they'd need to retain the older GSM network and chip on the phone, so I don't know how well that'd work for Verizon.

Yeah. It's 70 dollars for 3G service, email, internet, and (i think) 450 minutes and 200 text messages. Probably like 15 dollars more for unlimited texting.

The reason Verizon turned down the initial offer is because Apple wanted a cut of the monthly plan fees (I'm pretty sure). If they could work something out, Apple could make an insane amount of money (more than they already are) especially with the iPhone 3G being 99.99 and the 3G S being 199.99.
