Okay, I have an issue.
...I have strep throat. It's been killing me for 2-3 days now. I've been trying my damnest to ignore it and pass it off as allergies, but I just checked my throat and it's definitely strep (I've had it 9 times so I can recognize it).
It's really painful enough that my eyes have been watering, and spending the past 6 hours running around in 80+ degrees (literally, sprinting a lot of the time) in Rockefeller Center and Times Square did not help.
So I go get treatment tomorrow and all is well, right?
Not quite. Prom is tomorrow. I have invested 292 non-refundable dollars into this night. I've actually finally been looking forward to going. I can't miss it... I can't. I went broke for this and the sheer amount of effort I put into making this night entertaining has been enough for me to keel over.
But if I go... I risk making all my friends sick. Not to mention how uncomfortable I'll be... I currently have a 102 degree fever aside from my unbelievable sore throat.
I don't fucking know what to do. I'm honestly sobbing weighing my options. Someone help.

Can you really do anything other than taking antibiotics, getting rest, and hoping that you feel better tomorrow?

But perhaps you should just not go to school tomorrow and rest, idk really and then just brave through it, I mean strep throat isn't the end of the world so if you do get people sick it's not like they'll die.

For strep I need amoxocillin (sp?)
I'm almost positive it's by prescription only. There's very little I can take to make myself feel better, and nothing i can take to make myself non-contagious, which I'm most worried about.

You don't know it's strep until you get lab tests confirmed. You don't know it and doctors can't even tell just by looking at it. You're screwed, no prom for you tomorrow. Stay home.

I have experience with strep. I've had it many times, and it goes around my family constantly. So even if my percentage is made up, it doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. I do. I have been told by doctors what to look for when looking for strep. Whit fucking blotches on the back of the fucking throat. I'm not pulling this out of my ass, that's one of the distinct signs.

Go see a doctor before prom and get answers from him. Also, don't fake it. Strep throat is extremely contagious and going to prom with it isn't a smart idea.

I don't now what you're not understanding about this. I'VE HAD STREP THROAT 9 TIMES. I KNOW IT BACKWARDS AND FORWARDS. THE SIGNS, SYMPTOMS, EVERYTHING. I don't know why you assume you know more than me about it.
In fact, better change that number o 10 because -SURPRISE- after waiting in the ER for 5 hours I was diagnosed and given penicillin. I'm going tomorrow, but skipping out on the afterparty. I won't be sleeping tonight, I have a math project.

i don't think tetracaine is available over-the-counter but i got it the last time i got sick and it worked like a miracle

Sam is probably right when she says she has strep throat due to the evident presence of semen stains in her throat because she has had it before (or at least claims to), and I see where Paul is coming from when he says that you really can't be sure—because unless you're a physician, you really can't be sure. Though, in all likelihood, if Sam is experienced with white blotches and the presence of said semen blotches in the back of her throat is not because of her fellating addiction and instead because of strep throat, then she is probably right this time and it probably is strep throat.

On a semi-related note I'm pretty sure my doctors are just guessing when diagnosing me when I have throat problems. Seems like they roll a di to see if I have strep, bronchitus, or an asthma attack

Oh, THAT'S what paul meant when he said it wasn't hereditary. I had no idea what he was referring to. I just meant one person gets it and then everyone gets it. My two little brothers had it last week. Anyway Bassir's right, it is ridiculous, But I'm the correct one.So whatever.
I went to prom. My mom was wrong, my senior prom wouldn't be better and it was not less boring than it was last time.
Huge waste of money. At least I now have pictures of me in a pretty dress. woo.
Oh, and I didn't go to the afterparty because I hadn't slept the night before and decided not to, but I think we're doing something else today. From the texts that I'm getting from my friend, I'm pretty sure the party was awful anyway. Probablyjust because me and krystle weren't there to liven it up ;)

I'm pretty sure the main event at the party was supposed to be Disney Scene it. Which is fun, yes, but will only entertain you for so long. And is much better when tipsy.

Obviously, but seeing as it would be impossible to do so now would it be more beneficial to just skip one or to take two.
I really don't see how taking two would hurt me, so I'm just gonna go for that option. If it were anything that had bad side effects I'd probably just stick with one, but I think it'd be fine with penicillin. If anybody knows otherwise, feel free to speak of it within the next 5 minutes or so.
