Title: Eminem - Relapse
Post by: Selkie on May 07, 2009, 06:32:56 PM
Leaked. My friend gave me a copy.

Shit is fucking rediculous.

Listen to it, even if just for the shock value.

Songs of interest: Beautiful, Insane, Underground, Old Time's Sake

I'm quite surprised by Relapse. Crack A Bottle and We Made You gave me doubts about the album being good, but 3am restored a little bit hope towards it. The album overall is actually pretty good.

After listening to it a few more times, it isn't as bad as I felt it was after the initial listen, but it still isn't a great album.

Only about 25-30% of the album is worth listening to.

That's how I felt.

The annoying as fuck voice isn't as apparent.

And you're right about 25-30%
20 tracks

"Insane"
"Deja Vu"
"Beautiful"
"Underground"
"Same Old Song & Dance"

Every cd critics gave it a three, then three years later they go back and re-rate it and call the Slim Shady LP the greatest. The Marshall Mathers was a classic, The Eminem Show was fantastic, but Encore just didnt have the caliber to match it. I guess enough time just aint passed yet. A couple more years that shit'll be illmatic and 8 years later I'm still at it.

Is it anything like his early stuff? I'm not going to listen to it if I'm not assured it's as immature and hilarious as the stuff from The Real Slim Shady era.

Wow, you guys liked "Beautiful"? I thought it was horribly uninspired and cheesy, so unlike Eminem, it was ridiculous. As soon as I heard the singing, I thought it was some sort of parody.

What about "Old Times Sake", "Stay Wide Awake", and "Must Be the Ganja"? "Medicine Ball", and "Careful What You Wish For?" (that bonus track) are cool too.

It's a decent album, has enough good songs to qualify it as decent

Really? You have a weird taste in Em's music. I found Stay Wide Awake and Medicine Ball very boring.

I listened to it a few times and I understand it's appeal, just think it's kind of meh.
