Title: Am I getting scammed?
Post by: strongbad on April 30, 2009, 09:40:21 PM
I recently posted my Zune on craigslist, hoping to get enough money for an iPod classic since iTunes runs way better on my computer. Anyway, read the emails:

Dr. Evigan
QuoteHello...is it still for sale let me know asap dont forget to send me some pics of it and how much are you willing to sale it

Me
QuoteYes, the Zune is still for sale. I'm hoping to get $200 for it, but I'd be willing to go down to $180. It's in perfect condition. I had one about a year ago that recently broke, so I sent it in and got this one back, so it's virtually brand new. Attached to this email are some pictures. Tell me what you think. <insert pics here>

Dr. Evigan
QuoteI am interested in  purchase  it if you are ready to sell for me, So
please let me know  the present condition including your last asking
price you are willing to sell it, with some other pictures, and am
sending to my Grandson that recently traveled to abroad (Nigeria) for
a research program. Also, I will pay you $700 for the payment including
shipping of this item. This item is to be shipped directly from you to
Grandson address at abroad via USPS ( EMS ) Global Express Mail. My
mode of payment is Paypal.Kindly close the auction and get back to me
with your payment details so i can make the payment asap.
Hope to read from you soon.

As soon as I heard the word "Nigeria" I knew that something was up  wariodood;

That, and the Zune software is deleting songs from my Zune even though they're still in my music folder.

Isn't the point of craigslist to sell locally? Someone on ebay wanted to buy my PSP and have me ship it to Africa, I said no thanks.
