Local law enforcement deals with sex offenders almost daily, but in the past couple of months, Zanesville police have dealt with one of the youngest cases officers can remember - an 11-year-old girl charged with three counts of rape.
Detective Randy Ritchason said the girl had some type of sexual contact with three other children - two boys and a girl -all under the age of 10. She was charged in Muskingum County Juvenile Court.
"I believe it's the youngest perpetrator we've had," Ritchason said. "We've had young teens before, but she is about the youngest I've ever dealt with."
You have got to be shitting me. How can anyone find an 11-year-old girl that was experimenting with 8 or 9-year-olds or whatever guilty of rape? These are children; they are curious about their bodies and they don't know any better. You can't punish a girl that young because of this. You might consider psychological counseling to help her realize why she shouldn't do such things, but I can't believe that she would be charged with rape.
It's like calling an 18-year-old banging his 15-year-old girlfriend rape. What a load of bullshit.

I'm not directly comparing the situations, just likening the absurdity of one to the other.

but how is it absurd
a legal adult having sexual relations with someone who isn't even legally able to consent to sexually activities

Because it's honestly not a big deal. If you're 18 and your girlfriend is 15, I don't really see an issue there. I don't think that someone should be sent to prison for years and be forced to register as a sex offender because they banged a girl three years younger than him.

you're just pissed off about the outrageous consequences
Those laws are put in place for reasons, and if you were ever educated about them you'd realize that they do hold some god damn merit.
These outrageous consequences can be said for our whole damn justice system so don't try to narrow it down to belittling statutory rape.
blame our society in whole

lol weird.
This is just fucked up. Not only will she not be able to go to a public school now, she won't be allowed anywhere near one. Some of the shit that comes with being a sex offender in all that.
With the sudden outbreak of teenage sex offenders we might want to think about changing the laws a bit. I don't think that anyone thought about children being affected when they created these laws. baddood;
