Title: Give me some suggestions
Post by: Dullahan on April 02, 2009, 05:10:19 PM
Okay, I just finished reading a book I had to read in English class. The Catcher in the Rye. My assignment is to make a soundtrack with lyrics relating to events in the novel. So far, I have November Rain by Guns N' Roses and Creep by Stone Temple Pilots. Honestly, I think they're very appropriate choices with my own reasoning.

This assignment had to be finished when we finish the book. Turns out we finished it sooner than I thought we would. For those here who have read the book (which I'm hoping is more than just me and Lacey), could you give me any song suggestions? If you do, give me one sentence of reason as to why it would be appropriate. I'm good at making stuff like that into a paragraph and making it look neat. hocuspocus;

P.S. This thread is to help me and not discuss the book which is why I did not post it in the Arts board baddood;

I've read the book and we've had similar projects before for other novels, however I know nothing about music and always chose a different assignment. goowan

If you need an existing song about prostitution, use"La Grange" by ZZ Top. It's about a whorehouse outside of La Grange, Texas.

i'm pretty sure you can't use that one.
my friend katie tried and my teacher was like no, it's not allowed sense it directly relates to the book.

I had to do that with Macbeth sophomore year

yeah... Macbeth

it was great

Catcher in the Rye should be easy though, there's so many generic themes in there
