velut luna
statu variabilis,
semper crescis
aut decrescis;
vita detestabilis
nunc obdurat
et tunc curat
ludo mentis aciem,
egestatem,
potestatem
dissolvit ut glaciem.
Sors immanis
et inanis,
rota tu volubilis,
status malus,
vana salus
semper dissolubilis,
obumbrata
et velata
michi quoque niteris;
nunc per ludum
dorsum nudum
fero tui sceleris.
Sors salutis
et virtutis
michi nunc contraria,
est affectus
et defectus
semper in angaria.
Hac in hora
sine mora
corde pulsum tangite;
quod per sortem
sternit fortem,
mecum omnes plangite!

Je n'ai pas appris le latin. J'ai étudie le français parce que je suis genial.
probably missing some accents
Perhaps I didn't tell you this ever, but I have every movement from carmina burana memorized. Minus the solos and parts I don't sing.I mean, I'm sure I'd mess up a few times but I basically have it down.
Today I told Paul I was singing Carmina Burana and he asked who it was. :(
My the way laura, my choral director wouldn't tell us what it meant, she wants to save it for when we're really getting prepared for performance so we can put more emotion in our voices. But I cheated and looked it up. Not one of the happy christ-filled latin songs I'm used to singing. >.>
