Actually, "niggardly" does have a negative connotation. I'm pretty sure you'd be offended if someone described you as such. akudood;

i read those to my friends today in the commons room and... well just don't say niggardly out loud, it seems like it might be funny until you realize everyone can hear you and no one knows what it means.
