Question:
If you can only have one of the two, which would it be?
Option 1: Cordless, but without rumble
votes: 10
Option 2: Has rumble, but has to be connected by cord
votes: 13
Made this after seeing a certain discussion in the picture thread regarding Gamecube Wavebird controllers.
As for me I care very little about rumble, and don't even care that the Wavebird lacks it.
rumble is pretty pointless imo
who cares if it's cordless, rumble is amazing
The only reason people are picking cordless is because the Gamecube controller cords were like 3 feet long.
Rumble 4eva.
rumble
I've never really wanted to sit any farther from a system than the wire reaches, if I did I just pulled the system farther out.
I have bad eyesight as it is.
Also, they make estension wires for the GCN controllers, I have one that I used like twice.
i like it when the controller shakes it's almost like I'M IN THE GAME akudood;
Wireless
my old PS2 controller had rumble and was wireless.
I guess I'm kind of biased since I've never had a cordless controller before my Dualshock 3 three weeks ago. I can still make scenarios in my head, though:
If the Dualshock 3 wasn't cordless, it wouldn't bother me.
If I had gotten the previous Sixaxis controller for some reason (packaging error i dunno), I'd be pissed.
I love my rumble.

I have one and use it every time I play a game with GBA connectivity since there's no wireless option for that.
I usually keep my game systems on top of my TV, so uh I prefer not having a cord running down the middle of the screen. And I also prefer not to have the cord tangle from or length used by bringing the cord down on the other side of the TV then making its path go on the ground around the TV to the front. I have to do that every time I play something like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
I don't want to sit a foot away from my TV screen just because the cord won't pull far enough.

Cords stretch much more than a foot

Yeah, it was an exaggeration. Also, I'm limited where I can sit.
As long as it's cordless, I don't care if it has it or not.
Since I play on a 15" LCD TV and my game system is about a foot to the right of said TV, I prefer it to have a cord. Hell, I've got a wireless 360 controller with a Plug-n-Play battery and I almost always have it plugged in anyway.
I don't give a shit about rumble and I never have. In fact I often just find it more annoying than for what it's worth. And besides, I have a lot of consoles and most of them don't support rumble anyway, so I'm very much used to not having it. I think the only time I ever really made use of rumble was for finding secrets in the two N64 Zelda games.
But anyway, the Wavebird is my favorite controller ever. I love the design, the look, the fact that its batteries somehow last like a year. But most of all I love that it's wireless. I hate wire tangles and having wireless controllers helps me cut down on them at least a little bit. Besides, I often sit too far away from a TV for the wire to reach very easily without risking the console getting pulled.

I don't like cordless because of batteries. Rumble is better.

well i must give the wavebird credit here, its batteries last months and months

Wrong. I play at least 2 hours a day and my batteries last for weeks.

For calculation's worth, it's 2.5 hours a day for 3 weeks. That would be 52.5 hours, or two days and 4.5 hours nonstop use.
And also not all batteries have the same lifespan. For my rechargeable batteries, after I swap the ones from the charger (fully charged) with the ones in the Wiimote they definitely don't even last 18 hours of continuous use. Then again, maybe it's the detection of how full the battery is that is screwy, considering I've played on 1/4 bars of energy for probably 4 times how long I've played it on 3/4ths energy without ever letting it fully reach empty.
Wireless.
only drawback is batteries but if you have rechargables it isnt as bad
I hate wireless just because of the constant recharging I have to do.
I hate corded controllers because of the cords.

I guess I'll go with wireless, because it is much more useful, while rumble is more of a luxury, although I do enjoy it very much.
