It would be pretty fun tagging it off to people if you ask me. Me and my friends had tons of games like this in SSBM, like we would both throw pokeballs, and whoever got the stronger pokemon, they would get one combo on the enemy without retaliation. We had like 10 different games, it was pretty fun.
