Was actually pretty good. I went and saw the midnight showing toonight that all my friends wanted me to see, and.. I didn't dislike it. It was sexy and now I just want someone hot to have hardcore sex with who will protect me forevers. :(
And apparently I learned that I jhave worse taste in guys than I thought... because I was drooling over the guy that all my friends thought was ugly (Jacob) and they were drooling over the guy who looked creepy as fuck to me (James).
And furthermore, they were all dressed as vampires from the movie. After watching the movie, I realized I would have been better than all of them, as I'm the only one white enough for the part.
But noo, no, I was dressed as Harry Potter. And I do not regret this.
Anyone else get to see it?
also oh god I haven't slept in 2 days and I'm running on monsters.

I'm doing homework, taking a shower, and playing zelda til school.
I probably won't even finish the homework, I'll have to stop for my shower and get no zelda in. :(
And I'm really wide awake right now. I've passed the tired phase. It's funny because I'm usually like.. a borderline narcoleptic. I usually sleep 10-14 hours a day due to depression or just.. whatever. And it makes it so I'm tired ALL the time. But now I'm wide awake. I'm embracing it.
I was going to make a thread about it's terrible book series of which it were based on.
I have not seen the movie yet but seeing as the source material is shit, I doubt the film adaption will be any better. Why the hell do girls like that book so much?
And I am sick of seeing the Twilight/Harry Potter comparison, they are nothing alike. HP has global appeal, Twilight is just some shitty romance novel with an uninteresting plot and static characters. HP was actually GOOD (the first 4 books, amazing).

I am not defending Twilight but (unless I misunderstand what you mean by "Global Appeal") you cannot say that it doesn't have a global appeal. The books aren't really that fantastic I cannot understand so much why girls get obsessed with them the way that they do but I wouldn't consider them horrible or even that badly written (along the lines of MOST modern literature IMO but that could just be a personal taste issue) and I really would not say that Harry Potter is written that much better.
I don't know but really liking it and really disliking it both seem a bit silly but if people are happy I'm fine.
You sure it didn't suck?
No Jake is definitely hotter than James don't worry about that.

Well, I only read the first four Harry Potter books. I forgot most of the details though akudood; I don't even want to bother with Twilight. My friend compared the popularity to males and WoW. I respect WoW a lot more than Twilight, and that doesn't say much.

Who's also badass.
okay, thing with me is from what I hear about Twilight, It sounded like one GIANT vampire fanfiction. And fanfictions scare me.
upomn seeing it, I realized it was one giant fanfiction. But the male characters are just so... perfect that I don't see how it would not attract a girl or gay's attention.
There's a big enough variety that no matter what kinda guy you go for, he's available.
personally I'll settle for Edward, Jacob, or Eric. Preferably Edward only because werewolves scare me.
I didn't notice it existed until like a month ago. goonish
I don't see what's so interesting about it.

If she's anything like the girls I was with, expect at least a bit of squealing.
I actually found parts of it humorous, dunno why. The different reactions and facial expressions some of the characters make are hilarious. Watch for.. Jameson, I think his name is. His face never disappoints.
And even you won't be able to say no to Edward's charm wrenchy. giggle;

Wrenchy has a much better charm than him.
I can't stop looking at his snout. saddood;
I just got back from seeing it and some parts were hilarious... oh god what was it... "hang out, spidermonkey!" but overall I really enjoyed it and though it was very different from the book I think it stayed true to the style.
Also, I watched it with the most enjoyable people I know... ever. Holding my hand and such.
Just got back from it. I must admit that I enjoyed it. I was expecting a borefest, but instead got a good movie. I laughed quite a few times and it had no dull spots. The only thing that pissed me off were people clapping during kisses and when Edward appeared.
I WAS LIKE STFU FAGGOTS
Twlight is a plague to the nation's youth.
And I don't like the Twilight-HP comparison either. Sure, they're both book to movie phenomenons. What's the key difference? Harry Pottter inspires kids. Twilight is turning them into psuedo-emos.

They're both supernatural books-turned-film-phenomenon featuring teenagers
But I agree
I LOATHE Twilight because of these fucking comparisons. You don't see Stephanie Meyer winning any World Records for her books or anything. Nobody even fucking knew her before this fucking movie.
Nothing will ever compare to Harry Potter. baddood;

As much as I think Harry Potter is 12893y41892374893274932647863274 times better, I wouldn't say nobody knew about twlight before the movie. O_0
I had at least 20 friends who were obsessed with the book long before the movie was announced.
Maybe it's different here because I live in Phoenix and that is where Stephanie Meyer lives but Twilight was HUGE here before the movie came out... It was huge and I know kids in South Africa who had read it? And in Germany
Honestly, I wouldn't consider that unknown. But since when does something being unknown make it bad?
Again, a lot of the hype around Twilight is pretty obnoxious but I think that if you can accept the books for what they are it's really enjoyable.

The book is massively popular and was before the movie was even heard of. psyduck;
And when it comes to good books, the Harry Potter series is honestly not something I'd consider to have all that much merit beyond being a decent kid's series. As for the movies, they're a lot worse than the books, and not much more than some nice visual treats every now and then.

Also, my sister was reading the books long before a film was even announced, before the final book was even released. Hell, she even bought the republished version of Twilight with the film characters on the cover with a bonus poster, so now she has both the original and the republished version (waste of money IMO).
Twilight is something that has been under a pretty low profile aside from the girls trolling the teen fiction aisle in Borders or Books A Million until this movie was released.

HP is not an amazing book by any means, but it's better than most children books, yes. And it's probably one of the first chapter books I've ever read, so the nostalgia bumps it up on my "favorite books" list. I have not really read a book book in a long time aside from the stuff the school forces me to read. I might read past Twilight's first chapter if I'm bored enough.

...well, it's not exactly geared towards adults. More of early teens.
The writing style isn't even anything special, it's just that Harry Potter is a very very very very very very very good storyline.

Ginny could have gone though, that whore. Fred's death was sooo sad. :( Didn't care about Hedwig. Lupin and Tonks' deaths were perfect, I think they ended nicely and it really added to the story.
What didn't add to the story was the Epilogue. My god that was horrid.[/spoiler]
