Title: Bible Study
Post by: CHAOS66 on November 16, 2008, 08:20:49 PM
No, this is not a thread about biblehumping. I don't know what to beleive any more. So could people just post questions about religion? Then other people will debate whether or not it's right.

I'll begin.

How did the universe begin?

I've heard that atheists say that matter appears by itself but Christians say that is wrong because there is no scientific proof. BUT, if that were so then how was God created? If Christians say that nothing "just happens" then how did God "happen." Both are logical arguments, don't say God is a fairy tale because it doesn't sound reasonable. So unless someone finds scientific evidence that matter can create itself then God created everything, but then this theory contradicts itself in that it fails to provide an explanation to God's being.

Again don't be ignorant.

EDIT: I realize not all religions believe in the Bible, but it sounded like a good title  bassir;

God has always existed, he was never born or created.

Dammit I didn't mention not saying that.

Alright whatever, except for you can't exist before the beginning.

But then who created God? and God's creator? and that creator? and on and on...

You'd find yourself in a loop... something has to have always existed.

But, then that doesn't disprove that matter is self created.

Never mind, it already is [disproved] since you can't prove it

Can anyone find anything that disproves there being such a thing as God?

There isn't anything that does. Nor is there anything that proves it, at least in the "factual" sense.

I don't understand why you're asking questions that we already know have no concrete answers.
