Poll
Question:
Which of these three awesome games is the best?
Option 1: Metroid Prime
votes: 8
Option 2: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
votes: 2
Option 3: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
votes: 3
I only counted the three main ones of the series, which excludes Hunters and Pinball.
But yeah, I've been replaying Prime 1 and 3 recently, so I decided to make a poll regarding the series. Personally, I don't understand how anyone could not consider the first one the best. It has the best atmospheres, music (especially the phendrena and ruins themes), and weapons. Plus, I'm not really fond of the whole dark/light thing that keeps getting re-used.
As for Prime 3, I'll never like the Wii Remote controls as much as the GCN controller ones, so that kind of ruins its chances at being the best for me. It's great still, just too gimmicky at times and stuff. And the music hasn't proved nearly as awesome and memorable as the first Prime.
So yeah, Prime 1 is king.
But Super Metroid is still my favorite Metroid game overall.
I enjoy Metroid, but I absolutely suck at it. I'm still on MP1. >.<
Prime is the best. Love it love it love it. I love how sequence breaking adds so much replayability to it, although it has nothing on Super Metroid in that regard. It's harder to sequence break in Echoes, but there are still quite a few cool things possible, and virtually nothing in Corruption.
After playing Echoes a lot more over the summer, I've gained more respect for it. I probably like it better than Corruption, but Skytown is just so cool, so I don't really know.
Can't wait for the Prime/Echoes Wii ports.
i like metroid fusion and zero mission best

I never even heard about this until now.
Echoes. I thought the worlds and levels were better, and I liked how it had more cinematics. Metroid Prime is totally badass and I love it, but Echoes holds a special place in my heart. akudood;
I got Echoes for the gamecube, played it and couldn't beat the sand worm boss thing, and left it. Then, someone let me know that it would be a good idea to play the first game...first.
Holy fuck. I spent so much time not studying for exams and playing that game, it has so many wonderful memories and connotations for me. I've played 2 again, and even three which I loved, but nothing beats Prime 1. Just...nothing.
Just beat Flaaghra and got the Varia Suit. badass;
I never did like the Flaaghra fight much. It's easily the most boring boss in the game, which is unfortunate seeing as how he looks so cool.

i dunno, he wasn't really any more fun than Prime 1's final boss
he did look cooler but neither of them really did a whole lot

Ya, Nintendo's announced that they're working on Wii ports of popular GC games. I think it was like, 2 months after E3. baddood;

I like Quadraxis better.
3 is the only one I could manage to enjoy for more than 2 hours hocuspocus;
Prime 2 was ballin'.
Sanctuary Temple is one of the best areas in any video game ever.

agreed
overall I don't think I can really pick a favorite boss out of the games, though
metroid prime is the only one I've played from the prime series, besides hunters. prime was fun when I only had a gamecube, I used to do 100% speed runs of it, but now it's really boring... and the controls feel really weird now.. I tried playing it a few months ago, and it sucked. I got to tallon, and stopped playing last time I played...

I loved the way the Final Boss fight in Prime 1 flowed. It was kind of hard, but if you were crafty enough you could get powerups and stay alive while reading its movements. Prime 2 fight was kind of the same way, except the Dark Samus fight was just impossible for a while. The Emperor was fun.
Prime 3 boss was a buzzkill, way to easy and in no way significant despite its vague resemblance to Mama Brain.

if you actually played the others and didn't milk the original so much of all its worth, you might not find replaying it so boring
honestly get MP2 and 3 because even if they're not necessarily as good, they're still fucking great

Prime's final boss only annoyed me in one way...the Flamethrower is fucking useless against it. There's really no point to that weapon. Wavebuster and Ice Spreader? Hell yeah! But Flamethrower? No.

That reminds me...the two upgrades in Echoes were kind of useless. There were a few spots where it was good to use it and clear a large area, but mostly you had to conserve ammo. I never found a particular strategy for the darkburst...maybe it was the light beam's one that I used, because it had more power...argh, I don't remember. huhdoodame;

Yeah I never used those either. I just used charge shots for the light beam most of the time once I had it, and occasionally switched to Annihilator.

I remember conserving ammo for dark samus, and then taking her out very quickly. I'm glad that whole arc is over, Nintendo overabuses protaganist-clones.
Has awesome music. Upper Torvus Bog from Echoes.

One thing Corruption did better: Dark Samus' music. wub;
One of my favorite battle themes, other than Meta Ridley, is the theme for the incinerator drone. It's such a lame fucking mini-boss, but the music kicks ass.
I'm going to do a casual run through this weekend, and maaaybe a speed 100% next weekend if I can manage it. Then I'll move to echoes and corruption again. giggle;

it's a hell of a lot better than MP2's water sequences still
way too much water in the second one
I like 3 best because of the controls.
I was just able to get into it more so than the others. I only like it a tiny bit more than prime 1.
