AWESOME
yep, that's probably it. boo macbook keyboard, but whatever.
I might sell my MBP and get one of the new cheap macbooks, just to be new, and it's probably better anyway, if they have the rumored nvidia chipsets instead of intel integrated.
Looks similar to the 'leaked' MacBook Pro that popped up on Deutsche Telekom's IT site, and I'm surprised they moved to the spaced keyboard on the MacBook Pro's if it's real.

maps;
I like the MacBook keyboard.
I'll probably end up wanting the cheap one.
Glossy screens are terrible.
Wait, is that seriously going to be $900? If it is, I'm definitely going to get it for Christmas.

No, the Pro will likely cost about the same as usual.
There's a rumor of a $900 MacBook though, which will probably be similar.
I've heard they're going to drop the price of the Mac Book Pro, but we'll just have to wait until tomorrow to be sure. Plus, that's very ugly.

But yeah, tomorrow should be cool.
DO WANT
As nice as they are, not having Firewire is idiotic.
why should i care
Oh that's nice they priced the older generation of Mac Books at $1000, are they going to keep it like that or are they just doing this to sell out of the it? Personally I still think they look nice. Oh and the new cinema displays look nice.

I bet it's just until the run out of stock.
Yeah I want me the MacBook and a Cinema Display
I would consider selling my MacBook Pro and picking up the $1299 MacBook, if it weren't for the lack of FireWire port. Stupid, stupid decision.
Also what the fuck is with ANOTHER new video port? DisplayPort now? Why can't they just stick with DVI or at least miniDVI? fags
I DO really want the new Cinema Display, though. Really badly. It's so beautiful and would look superb next to my iMac since it's the same size and looks the same.
$900 though. edumacate;

Well yeah, I do have to use firewire at school to put videos on our computers.
Maybe they'll have an adapter or something
I CAN'T DECIDE BETWEEN PRO AND REGULAR MACBOOK >.<
What's the difference anyways, a slightly better processor and 512 MB graphics?

The screen is 2" bigger, and it weighs more... Wait, why didn't they update the 17" model in the same way? goonish

So I should just get the MacBook, right?

The biggest difference is graphics processing. The MacBook has the integrated nVidia 9400 thing with 256mb shared vram, while the Pro has that (I think) PLUS a real card (9600M GT) with 512mb dedicated RAM. That might be a bit off, but that's what I understood from the new stats.
The pro also offers a FireWire 800 port and bigger screen (most important thing for me).
And the 17" doesn't appear to have been updated for whatever reason... probably manufacturing cost of the 17" aluminum case.

If that's the only one you can afford, yeah, just don't expect to play newer games probably.

I thought the MacBook Pro was already made out of aluminium?

it is, but they didn't give it the new look or features.
I can't afford either, so whatever. I'd like to get into PC gaming, but it's really not a big deal for me.

Yes, but the new MacBook/Pro uses a completely new manufacturing process and I've seen some reports about how it's a huge investment... really expensive up front but it increases product durability and looks and design capabilities by a lot.
Why brushed metal why?

It's Apple, and it looks cool.
It's too dull and meh-looking, which is ironically the complete opposite of their iPod Nano.
Thenagain, I don't want to see a bright ass macbook either.
I want a nice Glossy Forest Green laptop or something.
